Introduction to coffee beans: Understand the starting point and mysteries of the coffee world!

Coffee, as one of the most popular drinks in the world, has a long history and rich cultural connotations. Coffee beans are the key raw material for making coffee. Understanding coffee beans can not only help us enjoy coffee better, but also let us appreciate the starting point and mystery behind this magical drink.

First, let's look at where coffee beans come from. Coffee trees, native to the Ethiopian highlands of Africa, are one of the most widely grown and harvested crops in the world. When the fruit is ripe, farmers pick it and remove the pulp to expose its center - what we call "coffee beans". These unprocessed coffee beans are dark green or light yellow and have a special aroma.

However, after picking, in order to obtain high-quality coffee beans for consumption, a series of complex and delicate processing processes are required. The first is the cleaning and fermentation stage: the freshly picked coffee beans are placed in water to remove the pulp and other impurities, and help the beans get better flavor during the fermentation process. Next is the drying stage: the washed coffee beans are dried to maintain their stability and shelf life.

Finally, the coffee beans that have been processed above need to be roasted. Roasting is a key step that not only gives the coffee beans a special aroma and taste, but also causes chemical changes inside them. Depending on the degree of roasting time and temperature control, you can produce coffee with different flavors, such as rich, bitter, smooth, and fragrant.

After understanding the complex and delicate processing of coffee beans from picking to finished products, let's take a look at some interesting and mysterious knowledge. The first is about single-origin and blended coffee: single-origin refers to coffee harvested and processed from the same region or farm; blended refers to coffee harvested from multiple regions or farms and blended together for processing. Single-origin coffee usually has more obvious regional characteristics and flavors, while blended coffee can combine the advantages of different origins.

In addition, coffee beans have different roasting degrees: light roasting, medium roasting and dark roasting. Light roasting retains the original acidity and floral flavor of coffee beans; medium roasting balances the acidity and sweetness and adds some chocolate or nutty taste; while dark roasting makes the coffee beans more bitter and also gives them a rich cocoa or woody aroma.

By understanding the origin and mystery of coffee beans, we can better appreciate and taste the wonderful experience brought by this intoxicating and poetic drink.
