Anyone who makes latte art wants to have a latte art pitcher and coffee cup of their own. Today we will learn about the common latte art pitchers on the market, as well as the impact and difference of the capacity of the milk pitcher on the formation of latte art.

Let's first take a look at the more common milk tank brands on the market:

Saerdna Pitcher

Wpm

Barista gear

Rattleware-RW

EVOLVE-EV

Zetian Tank-Resin

MOTTA

The influence of the capacity of the milk tank on the pattern formation

The current milk jugs on the market are divided into 12 ounces, 20 ounces, 24 ounces, MOTTA 500ml and Huijia 480ml. Most people use 450ml-700ml for latte art, so what are the differences in capacity for latte art?

1

Choose a milk jug with the appropriate capacity according to the capacity of the coffee cup

To put it simply, the larger the capacity of the coffee cup, the larger the milk jug should be. We all know that the closer the tip of the milk jug is to the coffee liquid surface, the easier it is to shape. So in order to ensure that the jug can be tilted to the greatest extent, when making latte art, the capacity of the milk foam in the milk jug should not exceed one-half of the capacity of the milk jug. The simplest formula for converting the ratio of the milk jug to the coffee cup is that half of the capacity of the milk jug is approximately equal to the capacity of the coffee cup (for example: if the capacity of the coffee cup is 300ml, then the milk jug should be 600ml-700ml).

If the capacity of a coffee cup is 300ml, and we choose to use a 12-ounce (about 400ml) milk jug, while ensuring that there is enough milk, but the milk foam in the jug is only 70% to 80% full, it will be difficult to make latte art.

2

The influence of cylinder tilt angle on pattern forming

First, the greater the tilt of the milk tank, the closer the tip is to the liquid surface, and the easier it is to shape. Second, if the tank can be tilted to a degree close to the horizontal state, it will be more advantageous for fixed-point molding patterns or "hearts". Third, it will be more conducive to finishing and flow control. On the contrary, if there is too much milk in the milk tank, which is not conducive to the tilt of the tank, the following problems will occur.

1. It is difficult for the pointed nozzle to get close to the liquid surface, resulting in loss of contrast and cleanliness during the first molding.

2. For milk jugs without inverted parts, it is easy for milk foam to flow down along the jug body.

3. Not conducive to ending.

4. It is not suitable for making fixed-point patterns. The more milk foam there is, the greater the impact will be, which will cause the pattern to move.

Recently, many friends have questions about 20-ounce and 24-ounce barista gear. They don’t know which one is better and how to choose. For those who like to use large cups for latte art, of course, the 24-ounce one is better. For those who like to use small cups for latte art, then choose the 20-ounce one.

3

Coffee cup capacity

It is not easy to make latte art if the capacity is too small or too large. The most suitable capacity for making latte art is between 200ml-350ml.

Summarize:

I personally prefer to use a 7-ounce coffee cup and a 20-ounce EV milk jug to make latte art, so that the milk foam in the milk jug is 40% full, just enough milk to make a cup of coffee. So no matter how big a coffee cup you use to make latte art, it is recommended to develop the habit of leaving as little milk as possible in the milk jug after making a cup of coffee. Thank you for reading, and here are some recent pictures of latte art made with an EV milk jug!
