As a coffee lover, my favorite is delicious coffee of all kinds. This time when I came to Baoshan, Yunnan, I unexpectedly tasted one of the best coffees I have tasted in recent years. In fact, when I traveled to Yunnan for the first time more than ten years ago, I bought a bag of Yunnan small-grain coffee beans in Lijiang. After I came back, I felt that they tasted extremely good and were better in quality than many foreign varieties of coffee. However, in the following years, it was rare for me to drink Yunnan coffee. I usually came into contact with various imported brands of coffee. This time I came to Baoshan, Yunnan, in addition to drinking many kinds of local flavors of coffee, I also learned a lot of coffee cultural knowledge. Yunnan's coffee production accounts for 1% of the world's coffee. Yunnan small-grain coffee was introduced by missionaries a hundred years ago. Currently, 71 countries in the world produce coffee, of which 5% are of relatively good quality. Yunnan Baoshan small-grain coffee is grown at an altitude of 1000-1500 meters with very good climatic conditions. It is one of the 5% best quality coffees in the world. The Western countries with the largest coffee consumption do not produce coffee. Starbucks and Nestle's coffee is produced in Yunnan and uses ordinary-grade coffee beans. Yunnan coffee is one of the best coffee varieties in the world. After 1930, the famous overseas Chinese leader Mr. Liang Jinshan brought coffee to Pupiao and Luoming for planting, and continued until the founding of New China. After 1952, under the guidance of Ma Guojin, an expert from Baoshan Thermal Economics Institute, coffee was planted in large quantities in Lujiang and other places. The history of large-scale planting has been nearly 60 years. This time, I came to Baoshan to reveal the whole process of “from a seed to a cup of coffee”. The second Yunnan Small Grain Coffee Festival is underway in Gaoligong Mountain. This is one of the best quality coffees in the world, and the aroma is everywhere. Baoshan small-grain coffee has a long history of cultivation. Although there are no detailed historical records of the specific planting period, it is recorded in He Yunhua's book "Yunnan Baoshan Small-Grain Coffee" that according to the recollections of old reclamation team members of the Xincheng Farm in Lujiangba, Baoshan, around 1958, there were many coffee trees over a hundred years old surviving in the territory of the Lujiang Tusi Mansion in Xincheng, and these coffee trees were full of fruits. They were later cut down in the mid-1960s. Based on this calculation, the history of Baoshan coffee cultivation should be around 1850. It is said that these coffee trees were introduced from Myanmar by the chieftains at that time (most of Myanmar's coffee was grown by the British at that time), and were only planted on a small scale to meet the consumption needs of the upper class at that time. Xinzhai coffee base is located in Lujiangba, Longyang District, Baoshan City, Yunnan Province, on the eastern foot of Gaoligong Mountain. The coffee planting area is located at an altitude of 1000-1500 meters. The base has an average annual temperature of 21°C and an annual precipitation of 700 to 1000 mm. The natural conditions such as altitude and climate are very suitable for coffee growth. It is the core planting area of "Baoshan Small-grain Coffee", a national geographical indication protected product, with an annual output of more than 1,100 tons of coffee beans, providing a strong raw material guarantee for Baoshan's high-quality coffee production. Guoxin civet coffee factory is located in Hewai Village, Xiangshu Village, Lujiang Town, Longyang District, Baoshan City, Yunnan Province. In October 2010, the Lujiangba civet breeding farm in Longyang District was established; in March 2012, the Guoxin civet coffee factory was established; in April 2014, the Luyu Breeding Professional Cooperative was established. After years of exploration and research, it has become one of the leading companies in the local "cat poop" coffee industry. Guoxin Cat Poop Coffee is coffee made through natural fermentation in wild civet cats. Whenever the coffee berries are ripe, civets will come and pick the most ripe, plump, sweet and juicy berries on the tree as food. After the coffee fruit is eaten, the outer pulp is broken down by the digestive system, while the coffee beans wrapped in the hard shell are excreted intact. In the intestines of civet cats, special bacteria provide a unique fermentation environment for coffee beans, which changes the protein in the coffee beans, making the coffee less bitter and more fruity and sour. Baihualing is 119 kilometers away from Baoshan City and close to Gaoligong Mountain Nature Reserve. The scenic area integrates natural and cultural landscapes such as vertical distribution of primitive forests, rare animals and plants, hot springs, waterfalls, the Southern Silk Road, the Anti-Japanese Battlefield in Western Yunnan, and ethnic minority customs. Hemei Gezhi is a company with a full coffee industry chain. The company has a 5,000-acre original ecological boutique coffee base in Gaoligong Mountain, a primary processing plant with an annual processing capacity of 10,000 tons of coffee, an annual processing capacity of 1,000 tons of roasted coffee, and an annual processing capacity of 2,000 tons of three-in-one instant powder. It is an important raw material supplier in China's coffee industry. The person in charge of the company, Mr. Xu, is really young and promising and a doer! I just brewed and tasted the freshly roasted coffee. Baoshan, a coffee-producing province, is adjacent to Gaoligong Mountain, where a wide variety of birds live. Baihualing is known as "China's five-star bird-watching sanctuary." Look, there are so many beautiful birds. Yunnan Jinglan Tropical Crops Technology Co., Ltd. is an agricultural technology industry focusing on the selection and breeding of small-grain coffee varieties, planting, primary and deep processing of coffee, and sales and trade. It currently has 5,600 acres of cooperative coffee bases. With unique natural conditions and many years of coffee cultivation experience, its products are of high quality and mellow aroma. The "Jinglan" brand Lujiangba small-grain coffee has been highly recognized by many experts and connoisseurs. Baoshan E-commerce Service Center was established in early 2016. It is a third-party service platform for Baoshan City to promote the development of e-commerce and undertake the government's extended functions. There are more than 168 e-commerce companies settled in the park. The special exhibition hall in the park is a display and sales platform for the special products of Baoshan's four counties and one district. There are currently more than 300 products. There is a special coffee display center and experience center in the park, with professional coffee brewing utensils. The center is equipped with professionally trained baristas who can perform coffee brewing skills for visitors. Let me popularize some global coffee knowledge to everyone. It is worth collecting. Yunnan Baoshan Small Grain Coffee is one of the best coffee varieties I have ever tasted.
