Your starting point

Use a scale, a timer, clean equipment and good drinking water. The quantities below are an original practice recipe to help you compare changes, not an official certification standard.

Step by step

  1. Fit a filter into the cap as instructed by the manufacturer, secure it and set the upright brewer on a sturdy compatible mug.
  2. Add 15 g of medium-fine grounds and 225 g of water around 90 °C without exceeding the brewer’s marked capacity.
  3. Stir carefully, insert the plunger slightly to limit dripping and wait about one minute.
  4. Press gently and steadily. Stop if resistance is high; do not lean your weight on the brewer. Taste before adding dilution water.

Taste, adjust, repeat

Use the standard upright position. Match quantities to your specific brewer capacity and its instructions. Record bypass water separately if you dilute after pressing.

Keep a brew note

Save the bean name, roast date, dose, water, beverage yield, grind, temperature, time and one sensory observation. Repeat before changing several variables at once.
