Starbucks coffee beans hand brewing experience sharing

In the busy city life, enjoying a cup of delicious coffee has become a way for many people to relax. For those who really love coffee, hand brewing coffee is a unique and interesting experience. As a world-renowned brand, Starbucks provides a variety of coffee beans for consumers to choose from and encourages them to hand brew at home. Below I will share my experience of hand brewing Starbucks coffee beans.

Choosing the right coffee beans

First of all, before hand brewing, we need to choose the right coffee beans. Starbucks offers a variety of options with different flavors and origins, such as Colombia, Ethiopia, etc. Each origin has its own unique flavor and characteristics, and you can choose according to your preferences when purchasing.

I personally prefer the rich and fruity Ethiopian single origin series. This coffee has a distinct lemon and blueberry aroma, moderate acidity, and is very suitable for hand brewing. Every time I buy coffee beans at Starbucks, I will carefully read the description on the package and ask the store clerk for their advice.

Grinding coffee beans

After I buy fresh Starbucks coffee beans, the next step is to grind them into the right coarseness. This step is very important because different coarseness will affect the taste of the final brew.

For hand brewing, I usually choose a medium to fine powder. This ensures that the water can better contact with the coffee and extract more aroma and flavor. Using a manual grinder specially designed by Starbucks can ensure uniform and consistent particles.

Purification filter

Before pouring, we also need to purify the filter to ensure the best quality and taste. Starbucks recommends using a paper filter or a metal mesh filter for pouring.

I personally prefer using a paper filter because it traps coffee grounds and oils better, making for a clearer brew. I rinse the paper filter in hot water before using it to remove any possible impurities.

Hand pouring steps

After everything is ready, the next step is to start hand pouring. Starbucks provides a detailed hand pouring guide and recommends using precise proportions and time to ensure the best taste.

First, boil a proper amount of water in a kettle. At the same time, put a proper amount of coffee powder in a coffee cup and gently shake the cup to evenly distribute it.

Next, cool the boiled water slightly to around 90°C (do not pour boiling water directly onto the coffee). Then slowly pour it over the coffee grounds and let it fall freely.

Wait for about 30 seconds for the coffee and water to fully mix and release the aroma, then slowly tilt the pot to pour the remaining water into the coffee cup. This process requires maintaining a uniform speed and strength to ensure the best brewing effect.

Taste and enjoy

When the hand brewing is finished, you can start tasting. Shake the coffee cup gently a few times to allow the coffee to fully contact with the air and release more aroma.

Then use a spoon to scoop up a small sip of coffee and taste it. Starbucks recommends smelling the aroma before tasting it, and paying attention to aspects such as acidity, sweetness, and bitterness.

I found that the Ethiopian single origin series of hand-brewed coffee has obvious lemon and blueberry aromas, moderate acidity without being overly stimulating. The overall taste is very balanced and smooth, with a deep and lasting aftertaste.

Summarize

By doing the Starbucks coffee bean hand-brew experience at home, I can not only enjoy the delicious and unique hand-brewed coffee, but also better understand the story and craftsmanship behind each cup of coffee.

Starbucks offers a wide variety of coffee beans and encourages consumers to brew their own coffee at home. By choosing the right coffee beans, grinding, purifying filters, and precisely controlling the ratio and time, we can brew a delicate and delicious coffee.

Whether it is for relaxation or for the pursuit of a higher quality of life experience, Starbucks coffee bean hand brewing is a process worth trying and exploring. I hope my sharing can bring you some inspiration and fun!
