Coffee bean addiction: truth or myth?

In today's society, coffee has become an indispensable drink in the daily life of many people. However, in recent years, a saying has been circulated that chewing coffee beans can produce an addictive feeling similar to taking drugs. So, is this saying true or just a pure rumor?

First of all, we need to understand that there is a clear difference between chewing coffee beans and drinking coffee. Drinking coffee is mainly digested and absorbed by the mouth and stomach, and enters the blood circulation system to work. For the original form of swallowing the whole or broken beans directly, it may lead to a higher concentration and faster release of the chemicals contained therein.

Secondly, there is no clear and unified opinion on whether it is addictive. Although some people claim that they have developed dependence and withdrawal symptoms after long-term use of this method, there is no sufficient evidence in the scientific community to support this claim. In fact, caffeine, as a stimulant, will have a certain effect on the central nervous system, but this effect is usually short-lived and relatively mild.

In addition, chewing coffee beans may cause other health problems. Since coffee beans are hard and have high acidity, long-term use may damage the health of teeth and oral cavity. Moreover, excessive intake of caffeine may also cause headaches, insomnia, palpitations and other uncomfortable symptoms.

In summary, although some people claim that chewing coffee beans can produce effects similar to drug addiction, and have problems such as dependence and withdrawal symptoms. However, the scientific community does not have sufficient evidence to support this claim, and believes that this is only an individual case or psychological effect. However, when using any form of coffee products, you need to pay attention to moderate intake and follow the advice given by doctors or professionals.
