The source of energy in the human body is closely related to "adenosine (ATP)". When people consume the ATP stored during sleep, the fatigue substance "adenosine" will gradually accumulate in the body. "Adenosine" binds to the protein "adenosine receptor" on the brain nerve cells. When the amount of accumulation is too much, the human body will start the sleep mechanism and become drowsy. The caffeine contained in coffee can excite the central nervous system and is often regarded as a "stimulant". It is a chemical substance belonging to the xanthine group. Caffeine can enter the blood through the stomach and small intestine and will take effect in about fifteen minutes after taking it. The coffee and tea we usually drink contain caffeine. A moderate amount of caffeine can help refresh the mind. The principle is that when caffeine approaches the receptor glands, the glands will be detached from the receptor glands and replaced, and the fatigue-inducing molecules will not function. Even if ATP is reduced, people will not feel sleepy, but can maintain concentration and clear thinking. Caffeine blocks the binding of the glands, causing nerve cells to become active, stimulating the secretion of adrenaline, increasing blood pressure, and also increasing dopamine in the brain. However, if we drink large amounts of caffeine over a long period of time, the human body will become accustomed to its effects. If we suddenly stop taking it, it may cause our blood pressure to drop, causing headaches, palpitations, and psychological dependence. On the other hand, if the mind is always in an excited state, the body will also be depleted of energy and become exhausted. Studies have shown that drinking coffee before bed not only takes longer to fall asleep, but also increases the chances of light sleep and dreaming. People with insomnia may also inadvertently consume substances containing caffeine, such as cola, chocolate, cocoa, etc., which makes it even harder to fall asleep. When the quality of sleep is poor and the number of hours is reduced, more caffeine is consumed during the day to eliminate fatigue. Over time, this will form a vicious cycle. |
