The mystery of the coffee bean tree: exploring the mysterious name hidden among the green leaves

The Mystery of the Coffee Bean Tree

Coffee, this fragrant drink, plays an important role in our lives every day. However, have you ever wondered how coffee is produced? What kind of mysterious name does it hide? Let's explore it together.

Seed germination

A ripe coffee bean cannot be turned into the drink we know as soon as it is picked. It needs to go through a complex and magical process. First, the seeds must be properly handled and stored. Only under the right humidity and temperature conditions can the seeds maintain their vitality and wait for the best time to germinate.

When the environmental conditions are right, the seed begins to germinate. Nothing may be seen on the outside, but huge and subtle changes are taking place on the inside. The roots begin to extend deep into the soil and absorb nutrients; the seedlings photosynthesize through their leaves and convert sunlight into energy.

Thrive

Over time, the seedlings grow into robust coffee trees. They grow in the sun, absorbing nutrients from the soil and transferring water to their leaves through their roots. These leaves not only provide energy but also protect the seedlings.

Coffee trees need the right climate to thrive. A warm and humid climate is ideal. High altitudes also have an important impact on coffee bean production. These places usually have lower temperatures and more rainfall, giving the coffee beans a unique and rich flavor.

Flowers bloom

When coffee trees reach a certain age, they begin to bloom. These small, beautiful white flowers have a subtle fragrance and are a stunning sight to behold in the sun.

However, not all flowers will produce fruit. Only after they are successfully pollinated and fertilized will they form fruit - what we call "coffee cherries". This process requires the help of insects such as bees, which transfer pollen from one flower to another.

Fruit ripening

After months of waiting, coffee cherries finally ripen. At this time, their color changes from green to red or yellow. This is a signal that tells us that the fruit is ready to be picked.

Coffee beans are wrapped in pulp, and only by removing the outer pulp can we get the real coffee beans. This process is called "peeling". The peeled coffee beans need to be dried and fermented, during which their flavor characteristics will be further improved.

Taste the aroma

Finally, after careful processing and roasting, coffee beans become our favorite drink. Behind every cup of fragrant and delicious coffee lies countless hard work and careful cultivation.

Therefore, before enjoying every delicious bite, please remember: those coffee beans hidden by the green leaves are grown from a thriving coffee tree, which can bring us such a wonderful taste experience.
