Coffee bean processing technology: from picking to roasting, perfect presentation of mellow taste

Picking coffee beans

The quality of coffee depends on many factors, the most important of which is the picking of coffee beans. Generally speaking, coffee berries with moderate maturity will produce the best taste and aroma. Therefore, during the picking process, farmers need to carefully choose the right time.

After the husks are removed, the coffee beans need to be fermented, a process that places the beans in a specific environment so that they can further develop their unique flavor and aroma.

After fermentation is complete, the beans need to be thoroughly washed. This step is very important because any residue may negatively affect the final taste.

Drying and sorting

The washed coffee beans need to be dried in the sun. This process helps remove moisture and further enhances the flavor.

At the same time, before drying, workers will sort the coffee beans and divide them into different grades according to factors such as size, shape and color.

Baking

The last key step is roasting the coffee beans. By controlling parameters such as temperature and time, each bean can reach the ideal state.

Brief heating at high temperatures evaporates the internal water and produces aroma compounds. Over time, the beans darken in color and become more flavorful.
