Coffee bean production process and preparation method

Coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world, and coffee beans are the key ingredient in making coffee. This article will introduce the production process and production methods of coffee beans.

Planting and harvesting

Planting is the first step in the coffee bean production process. High-quality coffee needs to be grown in suitable climatic conditions, usually at high altitudes. These areas usually have stable and cool temperatures, sufficient rainfall, and soil rich in minerals and organic matter.

When coffee trees are ripe, farmers pick them. They use hand or machine to remove the ripe fruits from the trees and screen out unsatisfactory or unripe fruits.

Peeling and fermentation

Once the picking is complete, the next stage is peeling. This can be done in two ways: dry or wet.

Dry method:

In the dry process, farmers place the picked coffee cherries in the sun to dry. As the cherries dry, the outer skin cracks and farmers remove the outer skin of the cherries either by machine or by hand.

Wet method:

Wet processing is a more complex and time-consuming method. In this process, farmers first soak the coffee cherries in water and then use a machine to remove the pulp. Next, they place the beans in fermentation tanks to ferment.

Drying and baking

Whether the coffee beans are obtained through dry or wet processing, they need to be dried after fermentation. This process can be done through natural drying or mechanical roasting.

Air dry:

Air drying involves spreading the coffee beans on large platforms and exposing them to air and sunlight in the sun until they are completely dry.

Mechanical baking:

If time is limited or weather conditions are not suitable for natural drying, mechanical roasting methods can be used. This method uses special equipment to heat the coffee beans to the appropriate temperature to remove moisture.

Grinding and Brewing

Once the beans are dry and have the right amount of moisture, they are ready to be ground and brewed.

Different coffee beans require different degrees of grinding during the coffee making process. Coarse grounds are used in French presses or drip brewers, while fine grounds are used in Italian espresso machines or Turkish coffee pots.

Once you've chosen the right grind size, you can use a variety of brewing methods to make delicious coffee. Popular methods include drip, French press, espresso, and more.

in conclusion

Through the process of planting, picking, peeling, fermentation, drying and finally grinding and brewing, we can enjoy delicious coffee. Each step has an important impact on the quality of the final product and makes each cup a perfect combination like a work of art. Whether at home or in a coffee shop, making a good cup of coffee requires the careful efforts of farmers, processors and roasters.
