TDS dilution

Calculate added water to lower a measured TDS.

How this calculation works

added water = beverage × (initial TDS ÷ target TDS − 1)

Assumes added water contributes negligible dissolved coffee solids. Use a coffee refractometer; a water-TDS meter cannot substitute.
