Hand-brewed coffee is the most popular today. Why are humans obsessed with it?

Eastday reporter Xiong Fangyu reported on August 15: Coffee has become an everyday drink that can be seen everywhere in modern people's lives, but many people don't know much about it. Where did it originate from, and how did it gradually enter modern people's lives? Why are humans obsessed with coffee? This morning, a salon on the "Knowing Coffee Series" "The Adventure of a Cup of Coffee" was held at the Shanghai Book Fair, attracting many readers who love coffee and reading.

The history of coffee is about 3,000 years old. The earliest coffee consumption in the world was in the Kingdom of Kofa, which is now Ethiopia in Africa. Coffee as a beverage was about 800 years ago. The first cup of modern coffee was in a place called Mocha Port, which is also the origin of the name of Mocha coffee today. The history of coffee seems to be the history of the spread and development of delicacies, but it is actually a history of the expansion of human desires. It has changed the history of the development of human civilization.

The "Knowing Coffee" series is published by Guangdong People's Publishing House, including "History of Coffee Addiction", "Crazy Caffeine" and "Global Addiction", telling you the world of coffee you have never known from different perspectives.

At the event, Jiang Chengzhe, the runner-up of the 2013 World Coffee Roasting Competition, the champion of the Taiwan Coffee Roasting Competition TCRC, and the founder of Zheshi Coffee, shared various "little-known facts" about coffee from a professional perspective. He believes that hand-poured coffee can better explain the charm of coffee. At present, hand-poured coffee is the "third wave" and the most popular way of brewing coffee today. A seemingly simple cup of hand-poured coffee requires at least 8 basic tools, including filter paper, thermometer, filter cup, hand-poured pot, timer, scale, sharing pot and grinder.

"The same cup of coffee does not taste the same everywhere. Different people brew it, and the taste will be slightly different." Jiang Chengzhe said that a good cup of hand-brewed coffee has the same characteristics of a balance of bitterness, sourness, sweetness and fragrance, giving people a pleasant feeling of taste, touch and smell. Therefore, compared with the rough taste of instant coffee, more and more people are fans of hand-brewed coffee.
