Classification and characteristics of coffee beans: learn about the different types in the world of coffee!

Coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world, and coffee beans are an important raw material for making coffee. Coffee beans can be divided into several different types based on their origin, processing methods and flavor characteristics.

First, there are three main types based on origin: Arabica, Robusta, and Liberica. Arabica beans are considered one of the highest quality coffee beans, and they usually have floral, fruity, and chocolate-like flavors. Robusta beans are relatively easier to grow and contain higher caffeine content. They usually have a stronger bitter taste and a nutty taste. Liberica beans are relatively rare in the global market, but are still popular in places like Malaysia.

Secondly, there are also different types in terms of processing methods. Dry Process is the traditional method, where the whole ripe fruit is dried and shelled after harvest; Wet Process separates the pulp from the seeds and removes the pulp through processes such as fermentation. Dry-processed coffee beans usually have a richer taste and fruity aroma, while wet processing makes it easier to control the quality of the coffee beans.

Finally, coffee beans can be divided into several different types based on their flavor characteristics. For example, Colombian coffee is known for its balanced acidity and rich taste, Brazilian coffee has lower acidity and nutty flavor, and Ethiopian coffee is loved for its floral, tea-like taste.

In short, when understanding different types of coffee beans, we need to consider factors such as origin, processing methods and flavor characteristics. Each type has its own unique advantages and applicable scenarios. Whether you are looking for a delicate taste or a strong bitter taste, you can find a choice that suits your taste preferences in the rich and diverse world of coffee.
