Is long-term coffee drinking harmful to our body?

If we talk about which beverage is recognized by the public, coffee must have its place. Especially for young people who are under great pressure from work and study, drinking coffee is a habit that cannot be given up. This is true whether it is black coffee or ordinary coffee. So many people have begun to develop a habit, that is, drinking coffee every meal. This easily leads to a question, that is, is drinking coffee every day harmful to the body?

1. Caffeine is a low-toxic substance.

A large part of the effect of coffee is provided by caffeine. In addition to refreshing, most of the discomfort symptoms such as palpitations, headaches, insomnia, etc. in coffee-sensitive people are caused by caffeine. It can slightly increase blood pressure by about 3mmHg, while the systolic blood pressure of normal people is in the range of 90-130 mmHg and the diastolic blood pressure is 60-90 mmHg.

2. Alcohols in coffee affect cholesterol metabolism

Cholesterol is not unhealthy for healthy people, and cholesterol is also an essential substance for the human body. Although many types of coffee may increase blood cholesterol levels a little, they will not cause dangerous hypercholesterolemia.

3. Stress can easily lead to adverse effects.

Caffeine helps improve alertness, sensitivity, memory and concentration. But drinking more coffee than you are used to can produce a stimulant effect similar to the same dose, which can cause jitteriness. For people prone to anxiety disorders, caffeine can make symptoms such as sweaty palms, palpitations and tinnitus worse.

4. Aggravate high blood pressure

Because of its analgesic effect, caffeine is often combined with other simple analgesics. However, long-term and large-scale use will only make your condition worse if you already have high blood pressure. Caffeine alone can increase blood pressure, and if emotional tension is added, it will produce a dangerous multiplication effect. All people with high blood pressure should try not to drink coffee.

5. Induce osteoporosis

Caffeine itself has a good diuretic effect. If you drink coffee for a long time and in large quantities, it can easily cause bone loss and have an adverse effect on bone mass preservation. For women, it may increase the threat of osteoporosis.

Drinking a lot of coffee will lead to a large loss of calcium in the bones, which will make you more susceptible to osteoporosis in old age and put a burden on the heart. However, drinking coffee in moderation can prevent Alzheimer's disease. So everything is in moderation. It is recommended not to drink more than two cups of coffee a day, do not drink too strong coffee, do not put a lot of sugar in coffee, and do not drink overnight coffee.
