How is latte made? A must-read for coffee lovers

In the coffee shop you go to most often, Wang Ruolin's "Labyrinth" is playing. "Drink coffee with me, love is in the air, your smile is warm, and it drives away the grayness of my mood (lyrics)." Immersed in the lazy atmosphere of the coffee shop, after a while, the barista brings a cup of hot latte to you. You look at the latte art pattern and can't help but sigh that it is so beautiful. You can't help but ask the barista how the latte is made?

SHOW TIME

  • What is Latte?

The English name of latte, Lattle, actually means milk in Italian, so latte coffee is milk coffee.

  • Espresso

Espresso is made using a professional semi-automatic Italian coffee machine with medium-dark roasted coffee beans - the surface is golden oil, and the volume is only about 30 ml.

  • Milk foam

Use the gas from the coffee machine's steam nozzle to whip the milk to produce fine and dense foam.

  • Coffee Latte Art

The barista uses a latte art pitcher with a pointed spout to pour the milk foam into the cup of espresso. He uses the shaking technique of his arm to perfectly blend the milk and coffee and create a variety of latte art patterns.

"This is the art of a cup of latte!" After saying this, the barista continued to make coffee at the bar...

In fact, one of the jobs of a barista is to make cup after cup of coffee latte art. Don’t you want to learn more about the barista’s unique skills (their daily life)? If you want, you might as well keep reading~

SHOW TIME 2

The first step is to grind the coffee powder. Remove the handle of the espresso machine, wipe the powder bowl dry, and inject the coffee powder from the coffee grinder into the powder bowl, and complete the distribution and pressing of the powder.

Let me tell you a secret, this step is usually the most challenging part for the barista's skills. The coarseness of the coffee powder determines the quality of the espresso. Generally, Italian grinding is fine grinding, and the extracted espresso is only 30 ml, and the production time is about 25 seconds.

The second step is to foam the milk. First, turn on the steam switch to remove the water remaining in the steam rod, and then place the steam rod in the milk jug. The steam nozzle is placed at the center of the milk jug, buried about 1 cm deep in the milk liquid surface, and formed a 45-degree angle.

Turn on the steam rod again , listen to a few hissing sounds, and a vortex will form on the surface of the milk and slowly roll up.

Turn off the steam switch when the milk jug becomes hot and take the milk jug out of the steam bar. In about 10 seconds, the milk will become thick and delicate milk foam like yogurt.

This step is the most difficult but most rewarding step. Many baristas have experienced countless nights when the cafe is closed, practicing alone and silently, using countless cartons of milk, before they finally learned how to make the simplest heart.

The ideal temperature of milk is generally around 60 degrees, which can ensure that the nutrients in the milk itself are not broken down and retain the mellow milk aroma. The coffee made has a delicate and mellow taste.

The technique of whipping milk foam is also very sophisticated. Its production principle is actually to add gas into the milk and heat it quickly to make the milk produce delicate and sticky milk foam. Without milk foam, there is nothing~

.

The last step is, of course, latte art. Hurry up, don't wait, otherwise the milk will separate. Hold your breath, straighten your back, hold the coffee cup with your left hand, hold the milk jug with your right hand, pull up the milk jug, and pour the milk into the cup of espresso. Blend the espresso and milk perfectly until it is 70% full, then lower the milk jug to the mouth of the coffee cup and slowly pour in the remaining milk. Watch the delicate milky white milk foam suspended on the golden surface of the coffee milk, slowly taking shape with the weak force of the liquid flow, presenting the shape of a heart.

What? The heart is too simple, how about a more difficult one? Okay, please look below, a wave of latte art patterns is coming~ There are such,

And such,

And such,
