There are many coffee lovers in the world, but there is really only one coffee fanatic like Richard Calabro!
Richard is a barista from Sydney who drinks 20 cups of coffee a day. At the age of 42, he has a unique understanding of coffee brewing and an almost paranoid passion for all kinds of coffee equipment. Since his cafe opened 15 years ago, collecting coffee pots has become his biggest hobby.
At present, Richard has collected more than 300 coffee pots, including antiques produced in the 18th century! To this end, he has traveled to many countries in the world and visited countless coffee producing areas.
"I'm of Italian descent and I can't remember when I had my first cup of coffee, it's been a part of my life from the beginning, every day with dinner we would have wine first and then coffee," Richard told Daily Mail Australia.
Richard said that traveling, music and coffee are his three major hobbies, but his favorite is collecting.
The 42-year-old father said travelling, music and coffee were his real passions.
This is one of his favorite coffee machines, made in the 1950s, and he admits he loves the look of it more than actually brewing coffee with it.
The barista used to drink 20 cups of coffee a day, but now has reduced his intake to just seven or eight cups.
"I've been collecting things since I was a kid, whether it's cards or anything. I have to admit that I've slowed down my collection now, and I won't buy more coffee machines I don't need," he said. But even so, his collection of coffee machines has filled up the cafe and even his home.
