Exploration: Coffee + milk = harmful to health?

Man is made of iron and rice is made of steel. To live, one must eat - but then again, only a reasonable and scientific diet can promote health. Overeating and improper diet will cause harm to the body.

Coffee + milk = harmful to health?

I believe that readers are all familiar with the drink "coffee milk". In fact, if we trace the "source" of coffee milk, it is generally believed that in 1660, Niehoff, the Dutch Governor of Batavia, Indonesia, first mixed coffee and milk to drink coffee milk. He also got inspiration from drinking British milk tea, so he tried to add milk to coffee. Unexpectedly, the coffee with milk tasted smoother and more delicious. In addition to the rich coffee aroma, there is also a faint milk aroma, and the flavor is even better than milk tea.

(Although this way of drinking milk coffee did not spread in his hometown of the Netherlands, it became very popular in France and became an indispensable drink on the French breakfast table.)

The French obsession with coffee and milk

It seems that what the French care about when drinking coffee is not the taste, but the environment and atmosphere. Most of them are unwilling to "drink alone behind closed doors" and prefer to join in the fun outside, even if the price of a small cup of coffee outside is enough to brew a pot at home.

From a nutritional point of view, both coffee and milk are beneficial to health. They enhance physical strength, allowing people to exercise for longer periods of time and achieve better exercise results. As for the relationship between caffeine intake and osteoporosis, it is still under ongoing research. There is no direct evidence that caffeine can cause osteoporosis, but some studies have pointed out that caffeine can increase calcium loss.

Regarding the issue of adding milk to coffee, nutritionists point out that drinking coffee in moderation (no more than two cups a day) is actually good for the heart and brain. Adding milk to coffee is not a bad thing. For example, drinking coffee with milk can effectively relieve constipation: adding a small amount of hot milk to coffee at breakfast can significantly relieve constipation...

For example, when doing gastric juice examination, caffeine is often used. In fact, it is to take advantage of the effect of caffeine in making gastric juice secretion more vigorous; and for some people whose stomachs cannot tolerate caffeine, adding some milk can still have a certain mitigating effect on it...

And so on and there are other effects.

It seems that the so-called "coffee + milk = harmful to health" is just a rumor, just to fool people?

Of course not, there are pros and cons: be careful of kidney stones if you drink too much caffeinated beverages!

Surveys show that after people drink too much caffeinated beverages, the calcium content in their urine increases significantly, making them more likely to develop stones. Dr. Linda Masi of the University of Washington said that calcium is the main component of stones, and if more caffeine is taken, the risk is greater.

Magnesium and citrate in the human body can help people prevent the formation of kidney stones. However, after drinking caffeinated beverages, these are also excreted from the body, which increases the risk of kidney stones.

So although coffee + milk is not a terrible thing, and we cannot say that it is harmful to health and must be banned, we should also pay attention to drinking it in moderation . It is okay to drink it moderately as long as it is controlled on a certain nutritional basis and it should not be consumed for a long time as a tonic.

In fact, in addition to adding a small amount of milk to coffee, you can also use milk as the main ingredient and coffee as a flavoring - that is, add a small amount of coffee to more milk. This method can not only avoid the disadvantages of excessive caffeine consumption, but also provide more ways to absorb nutrients, keep the brain awake and other benefits, killing two birds with one stone.
