Coffee making process

Coffee beans are picked from coffee trees. Generally speaking, only coffee berries that have reached a certain degree of maturity can be picked. This ensures that the beans contain enough soluble substances, making the final brewed coffee more fragrant.

Baking

After the initial processing, coffee beans need to be roasted to enhance their flavor and aroma. Temperature control is very important in this process. Usually, high temperatures will make the beans bitter; low temperatures will not fully bring out the flavor of the coffee beans.


During the roasting process, the coffee beans will gradually change color from green to yellow, brown or even black. At the same time, the moisture inside the beans will also evaporate. The length of roasting time and the temperature will affect the final taste.

Grinding

After roasting, coffee beans need to be crushed to better release their aroma and flavor. Different types of coffee require different degrees of crushing.

Generally speaking, espresso requires finer powder; while hand-brew or drip brewing, which have more diverse brewing methods and a relatively light and refreshing taste, can use slightly coarser particles.

Brewing

After the coffee powder is obtained after the preliminary work of picking, roasting and grinding is completed, it can be brewed. Common, simple and effective methods include: espresso, pour over, drip, etc.

In the brewing process, water temperature, water volume and steeping time are all key factors that need to be controlled. Different methods and personal taste preferences may vary, but in general, properly mastering these parameters can make the coffee taste richer and fuller.
