「Coffee Knowledge」Do you really understand coffee?

Do you dare to say that you are a coffee expert? There are many types of coffee, and light roasted, hand-brewed, and home-roasted coffee are the most popular. This trend has gradually swept from the United States. Hand-brewed coffee led by professionals has spread at an irresistible speed. If you are addicted to coffee, you must learn this basic coffee knowledge! Here are 9 basic types of coffee (Italian coffee/fancy coffee) to take you into the rich world of coffee!

Espresso

Made with an espresso machine, the finely ground and compacted coffee powder is brewed with high-pressure hot water, making the coffee more intense than other methods. Because it contains a higher concentration of soluble coffee substances and has a brown coffee oil (crema) on the surface, the taste is strong and rich. Espresso can be single, double, and triple, using a ratio of approximately 8, 16, and 21 grams of ground coffee powder.

Capacity: 25ml Production time: 25 seconds

Americano

In Italy, American coffee is usually made by placing a cup of hot water next to espresso for you to add. The ratio of espresso to water depends on personal taste, which is about 1:12. American coffee tastes lighter and does not have the strong taste of Italian espresso. Of course, it is more acceptable to people who do not drink coffee.

Caffè latte

Latte means milk in Italian. When you go to Italy, you must not order latte directly, otherwise the waiter will bring you a cup of hot milk instead of coffee. It can be seen that milk is the protagonist of this cup of coffee. The standard ratio is about 1/6 espresso, 4/6 hot milk, and 1/6 milk foam. In addition, you can also add different flavors such as cinnamon and vanilla. Due to the high proportion of milk and thick milk foam, the taste is sweeter, smoother and more delicate.

Capacity: 240ml Production time: 60 seconds

Cappuccino

Cappuccino means foamy coffee in Italian, and also refers to the loose robes and small pointed hats of Franciscan monks (just like the brown color of cappuccino). The difference between cappuccino and latte is the mixing ratio, espresso, fresh milk and milk foam are 1:1:1 respectively. First pour espresso, hot milk, and finally a thick layer of milk foam. You can also sprinkle cinnamon powder, cocoa powder or citrus and lemon peels to add flavor.

Capacity: 180ml Production time: 60 seconds

Espresso Con Panna

It is a kind of Italian fancy coffee. The black and white appearance can be clearly seen in the transparent glass cup, so it is also called Snow Mountain Coffee. The biggest feature of Combo Blue is the cold fresh cream and hot espresso . Generally speaking, it is not necessary to stir before drinking Combo Blue. Let the strong and rich espresso mix with the sweet fresh cream, and taste the dense and smooth taste. In addition, it has a unique flavor when taken hot or cold.

Capacity: 60ml Production time: 30 seconds

Café Mocha

Also a type of Italian fancy coffee, the base is espresso, and the ratio of espresso to chocolate syrup, fresh milk and milk foam is 1:0.5:1.5:1. Chocolate can also be added in the form of white chocolate. The most obvious flavor of mocha coffee is the slightly bitter and burnt aroma of cocoa. Some fancy mocha coffee can also be decorated with cream, cocoa powder and marshmallows on the milk foam to enhance the characteristics and aroma of the coffee.

Capacity: 240ml Preparation time: 2 minutes

Caramel Macchiato

The Italian word means "brand", just like a sweet mark, and it contains espresso, vanilla and caramel, and you can taste three aromas at once. Generally speaking, you can't stir it before drinking, so your lips will be covered with sweet milk foam and thick caramel sauce, followed by vanilla-flavored milk foam, and finally the rich and sweet espresso.

Capacity: 240ml Production time: 1 minute 30 seconds

Irish Coffee

Some people say that Irish coffee is a cocktail rather than coffee, which actually makes sense, because Irish coffee itself is made with whiskey, which not only has the aroma of coffee but also the aroma of wine. The method of making Irish coffee is usually to pour sugar first, then burn the alcohol in the whiskey to slightly caramelize the sugar juice, then add espresso, and finally add fresh cream. The charming aroma floats in the air and enters the nasal cavity, colliding and blending with each other, which is the most suitable cup of warming in winter.

Capacity: 180ml Preparation time: 3 minutes

Viennese coffee

As the name suggests, Viennese coffee is the favorite way of drinking coffee for the people of Vienna, Austria. First, sprinkle a thin layer of sugar or fine rock sugar on the bottom of the warm coffee cup, then pour in espresso and garnish with fresh cream. The taste is like a trio, tasting the bitterness and rich aroma of espresso in the delicate syrup, and finally the warm fresh cream taste blended in the coffee; as for American Viennese coffee, chocolate syrup is also added, so of course the calories are higher!

Capacity: 240ml Production time: 1 minute 30 seconds
