I suddenly realized that I have been in this black hole of coffee for almost a year. I finally climbed up step by step from the moka pot to the toy machine among toys and finally climbed to the current semi-automatic

I remember that I made a repo for the toy machine very seriously (yes, it is the following article)

At that time, I also tried Jingdong Baitiao (please don’t complain why I used Baitiao for such a cheap thing, I was just too curious

However, after paying off the debt for only two installments, my honeymoon period with this bear ended, and I decided to go on stage and make a serious semi-automatic machine so that I wouldn’t have to explain to my colleagues every time they passed by that this bear was not a professional coffee machine…

After checking the available credit limit on my credit card and the payment fee for installments, I started to struggle with choosing a machine.

As the saying goes, the reason for having a fear of choice is because of poverty.

After doing homework on Tieba forum for several days, I set the range of choices from the imitation S (Maxtor EM-18, which is known as the entry-level god machine) with a price of 1,500 yuan, to the original Lancilio small S with a price of about 4,000 yuan. As a result, I never expected that I would be attracted by Huijia's 210S2 gold version in the middle of browsing the posts (cough, I am also the editor of Zhang Dama's encyclopedia~

[Do you think I am beautiful? ]

In fact, I think its big brother KD310 (look down↓↓↓) looks cooler (but it’s too expensive!)

Plus, my bestie kept complaining to me that both S-style and Little S-style had boiler-like faces, especially like the ones used to boil water for everyone to drink at school (nonsense, they were actually heated by boilers), and finally I couldn’t resist the fact that this was a world where looks (and wallets) mattered, so I picked and chose at the richest man’s house and bought a white one (wait, didn’t I say that the gold one was so beautiful before? Why did I end up buying a white one!?!)

Compared to the two S models that use boiler heating, the 210S2 uses a heating block, but ours is a dual heating block, which means we can extract and froth milk at the same time. From now on, you can smile and watch the imitation S machine owner frantically waiting for the water temperature to return to the normal state to make milk froth.

Although it is said that the water temperature of the boiler is more stable than that of the heating block, many reviews say that the difference is not big, and it has no effect on home use. Then think about it, the coffee brewed by Starbucks' expensive machine is still the same as Shi. In addition, I can't drink ESP and American coffee. I only like milk coffee, and I think latte art is super fun. Everyone has a vibration pump, so this machine with super strong steam as its biggest selling point definitely hits me.

The purchase price was 3,500, which was just a little off. The original machine came with a double-mouth handle, but the seller gave a single-mouth one as a gift during an event (of course, the price of the gift is added to the main body, which everyone understands). I originally wanted a bottomless handle to facilitate technological progress, but the seller said that the bottomless ones were all given away to welcome new and old loves, so I gave it to my bestie to take home to please her dad, and successfully made my uncle realize that even if it is a toy machine, it is still many times better than instant. I think you have accomplished your mission, Xiong Er.

I remember one time when I was waiting for an uncle to get his car serviced at a 4S store and wanted to take his car home, the uncle asked me, "Do you drink coffee because it's romantic or because it tastes good?" I took a sip of the instant coffee provided by the store and answered seriously, "Because it tastes good."

To be honest, drinking the coffee you brew yourself gives you a sense of satisfaction and happiness that no instant coffee or coffee shop can give you.

Well, enough nonsense, let’s move on to the picture-based part~

①One week for outer box

It was a big square cardboard box with a simple drawing of the aircraft. The outer packaging was simple and clear. The packaging size was 375*375*433mm, which was quite large. The gross weight was more than 30 kilograms. The seller sent it via Deppon Express. The courier asked me curiously what I bought that was so heavy.

The package seemed to have been torn during transportation. I checked it with the courier and found it was an insignificant part, so I chose to ignore it.

② Stripping to see the gentleman

The manufacturer is in close touch with international standards. The instruction manuals are both in Chinese and English. The operation process uses both text and illustrations. The illustrations are in the same simple drawing style as the outer packaging, which is clear at a glance.

However, the part about adjusting the machine parameters was not detailed enough. It only briefly introduced how to operate it and which key was the maximum value and which key was the minimum value. I had no choice but to search for the instructions online, print them out, and add a page to it.

On the front, there are the brewing head, pressure gauge, operation panel, and small light for water level alarm.

The English lettering on the brewing head is quite impressive, and the LOGO on the water tray below is also quite stylish.

The all-metal shell is really beautiful and has a great texture. The white color is very fresh and elegant.

But it is worth mentioning that the white one is painted and easily scratched. The gold one seems to be electroplated? Anyway, the durability is much higher than that of the white one.

The pressure gauge is just a simple pictorial partition, unlike the KD310 which is a cool electronic display (to be honest, that display is so cool that it has no friends

The diagram is quite intuitive. It is divided into 6 zones in total. If you reach the red zone, it is best to stop the extraction directly. I personally feel that the pressure is better when it is in zones 4 and 5. Since I don’t have a constant pressure hammer, the force of pressing the powder is more erratic, and the amount of powder is also more random, so the pressure is different every time I brew.

The operation panel is also quite simple, not only is it bilingual but also has icons~ There are indicator lights above the buttons~~

The following parameters can be adjusted through these 5 buttons:

1. Brewing temperature (86, 88, 90, 92, 94 degrees)

2. Steam temperature (-10, -5, default temperature, +5, +10 degrees)

3. Steam pump frequency (+0.2, +0.1, default frequency, -0.1, -0.2 seconds)

4. Product quantity (this function has never been used before)

There is a cup warming plate on the top, which has good heat conduction effect and can hold about four coffee cups. The metal pad can be removed, so it is very convenient to clean!

The whole white circle at the bottom of the machine is a water tray, and the red one inside seems to act as a float? When there is too much water, it will stick out from the strip holes on the metal plate to remind you to pour out the water.

No dead corners, easy to clean!

Let’s take a closer look at the brewing group!

The English seems to be referring to the double pre-brew function, which is said to allow for more complete extraction.

There are clear instructions on where to insert the handle and the direction to tighten it. If the powder bowl is in place, the tightest way is to tighten it to the center. If the handle is empty, you can tighten it a little further.

Although the brewing head is not made of the legendary sharp brass but stainless steel, the workmanship still looks quite delicate. When I took this picture, I had just finished brewing once, and you can see that there are still some coffee grounds that have not been cleaned up. Although the machine comes with a small brush, it still feels quite difficult to clean, so later I bought cleaning tablets to clean it from time to time.

On the right side, the American-style tap is here. The water comes out in streams.

On the back, there is some basic information on the buttocks.

When I opened the back box, there was a place in the corner of the door for the cleaning disc. I dropped it when I was disassembling the machine and later accidentally found it on the ground... So this thing didn't appear in the photo of accessories at the back.

On the left is the water tank, which has a capacity of 3L. There is a small red warning light on the front. The water outlet of the water tank comes with a filter element. It is recommended to replace it once a year for home use. There is also a layer of mesh on the top of the water inlet to filter out larger impurities. However, I use Watsons distilled water bought from JD.com. It is said that distilled water will not affect the taste of the coffee and will not produce scale. It is expensive... It is a bit expensive

On the left, the steam head for making milk froth is here. The knob is frosted. Although it has scales, I usually turn it to the maximum.

You can see that the rotation angle is quite wide. Like the water heater, it has a scald-proof handle.

Friendly reminder: After frothing milk, be sure to wipe the steam head clean with a wet towel immediately, otherwise it will be difficult to clean after the milk dries. Also, be careful not to burn your hands because the temperature is really high (I have been burned many times).

Feet! Can be rotated to adjust the level!

A family portrait with a cleaning disc missing

There are three powder bowls, two brewing handles, two steam nozzles, a rubber powder hammer, and a plastic bean scoop.

There is a steam nozzle at the end of the bean scoop, which can be used to dredge the small steel needle

3 powder bowls, 1 single serving, 1 double serving, 1 for tea brewing, 58mm professional size

The one for making tea has not been used yet...

The steam nozzle has one single hole and one double hole. I have always used the double hole and it works very well. I used the single hole once but I didn't find the right angle so the milk froth didn't froth at all that day.

The weight of the two handles is shown in the picture. I just want to say that the handles are made of high-quality materials and can be used as weapons.

Since the original powder hammer is really not powerful, the material is rubber, and the bottom is covered with a thin layer of metal material, so I found another stainless steel powder hammer at the richest man's house↓↓↓ (the constant pressure is too expensive and I can't afford it.

It seems that different styles of powder hammers have different effects. I didn't do much research so I chose the concentric circle one that looked the best after pressing.

Since I changed my powder hammer, my mother no longer worries about me not being able to press the powder well.

It is about the same weight as the single-mouth handle (I bought a 0.1 scale to weigh it.

The changes and improvements brought about by the replacement of this small accessory are still very obvious. First of all, the wrist does not need to be so strenuous, and the taste of the product is also much mellower. The most important thing is that it is very beautiful after pressing.

BTW, I bought a pressing table along with the free shipping of the powder hammer. Although it is very cheap, it is sufficient for my use. It is much more convenient than pressing powder on the table!

Make up for the missing cleaning dishes and unclogging needles~

When washing the machine, put it in the double powder bowl and put a cleaning tablet (need to be purchased separately, I made up my mind and bought a large bottle...) Start the cleaning program and you can go play.

③ Let the cute little friend show his face briefly

Since it is a semi-automatic machine, how can it be without a grinder?

I am poor and I only have a Huijia ZD-15↓↓↓

Although the original intention of buying this product was to improve the grinding efficiency when using the moka pot at home, although I later got a PORLEX hand grinder from Rakuten

The ZD-15 is the entry-level semi-automatic grinder. According to popular belief, don’t consider grinding at a price lower than this.

Conical grinder, 25 adjustable levels. The powder spray was serious in the early days, so later it came with a rubber hose and two powder hoods of different diameters.

Because there are a lot of plastic parts, there are different degrees of residual powder and static agglomeration. It is said that there will be more fine powder after long-term use, but I haven't felt this yet.

I think it can basically meet my needs. Of course, I plan to upgrade the mill after paying off the car loan this year, maybe a 900N or something (by the way, many coffee and beverage shops near my home sell 900N mills).

④Drink, drink, drink

After using it for more than half a year, my most profound feeling is that claims that 1 shot only costs 7~8g of powder are all scams!!!

I need 13g of powder to make one serving. The 10g powder I made was all over the place and the brew head was all messy. The powder cake was all watery. But I'm not sure if it's because of the way I pressed the powder.

If you cook for 2 people, it is about 20g

This cup should be a test brew after just disassembling the machine. There is still a lot of room for improvement.

The first time I saw real Klima in my hands, I was so excited!!!

Only after tasting it can you understand why everyone is so crazy about oil, because the taste is really good! ! Fragrant but not bitter! ! !

The beans have always been the blend of the richest man. I place an order for roasting. I remember that the blends of this store are roasted and shipped on Saturdays. The quality is excellent and the flavor is also to my liking.

Recently I like to use a set of small cups I bought at a 10-yuan store for 20 or 25 yuan (the one with the cat head on the far right, a set of four with different patterns and a stand). I divide 1 shot into two small cups, and then beat about 180ml of milk into foam to make fancy patterns. According to the proportion, it is a flat white (applause should be given to Starbucks's Flat White, the Chinese translation is really beautiful). I feel that the taste is much richer than making a cup directly with a large cup, and there is no sour taste. I don't know why

As for latte art, I used to use a stainless steel latte art pitcher from the richest man, which cost around 20 or 30 yuan with free shipping. Some time ago, I took advantage of a discount promotion on JD.com and bought a YAMI Teflon pitcher. This black pitcher takes a long time to make, but the YAMI one is much heavier and feels better, but it can't make up for my poor technique.

The milk I've been using recently is also sold on JD.com. I just finished a box of Odebao and bought a new one, Deya. Both are 200ml. To be honest, from all aspects of comparison, the local fresh milk is still superior. Unfortunately, I have to walk a long way to buy milk near my workplace.

Since I usually drink alone, about four cups a week, and there is no refrigerator in the office, I always make milk at room temperature... The opportunities to practice latte art are still limited. In more than half a year, I have only changed from Yu (Fo) Jin (Hand) Xiang (Gan) to Yu (Fo) Jin (Hand) Xiang (Gan) with embossed patterns. Occasionally, if I am lucky, I can make a heart-shaped heart.

Well, as long as it tastes good, it will increase the visual enjoyment. If it tastes bad, I will still enjoy it~

Last week, my colleague at the opposite table said after drinking a cup that it tasted better than before, which means I am making progress!!!

↓↓↓Here is this week’s extract↓↓↓

↓↓↓No matter how ugly it is, I have to pull it out and stroll around~~~↓↓↓

The last cup was made yesterday. The milk foam was the best ever. However, I tried to push the heart but failed and it turned into a bird by me...

Let's have a general picture~

Well, now you should understand why I bought the white one.

⑤Summary

Thank you for your support and reading this far~~ I am a chatty person, so I will give a brief and rough summary of this machine~~

Use time: about half a year

Key configuration: double heating blocks, vibration pump

advantage:

1. Good appearance

2. Easy to operate and use

3. Regardless of whether it is an entry-level model or not, it is at least a serious semi-automatic Italian machine, with reliable pressure and temperature, and it can satisfy your home use.

4. The price is not too high and the installment payment is easier

5. The double heating blocks can extract and beat milk simultaneously, and the steam is very powerful; the preheating is fast, unlike the boiler preheating which has to wait until the flowers are all withered.

shortcoming:

Well, I didn’t find any obvious shortcomings when I used it myself. It’s basically because my production level is not good enough. However, the vibration pump makes a really loud noise. When I used it for the first time, I thought the machine was broken. . .

I haven't used a boiler machine myself, so I can't make a horizontal comparison, but it's definitely better than coffee shops. Besides, the beans in coffee shops are not as good as the ones I prepare myself.

Tips for use:

In fact, it is just learning from the Internet combined with my own practical experience~

After preheating, press the cup button to add water. The hot water is just enough to warm the cup. However, I personally feel that this amount of water is not enough. I usually pour it out and then get some boiling water from the water dispenser to heat it up again~

If you want to make milk foam, you should also let it steam for three to five seconds before making it.

Have a cup every morning or in the afternoon when you start work~ full of happiness~~ Making iced coffee in summer is quick and delicious~~

In short, coffee is just a drink. Just find the way and taste you like. I wish you all a good mood every time you drink coffee.
