Nespresso Pixie Nestle capsule coffee machine unboxing

Nespresso Pixie Nestle capsule coffee machine unboxing

My wife and I love to drink coffee. We used to drink instant coffee, but later we started to visit coffee salons and coffee forums, and gradually became interested in real coffee. I gradually got into it. Today, I will introduce why I bought a coffee capsule machine and my main feelings about this capsule machine.

Why choose a coffee capsule machine?

The first thing I bought was a French press + milk frother I saw while shopping at IKEA. The 4-person French press was only 5 yuan more expensive than the 2-person French press and was also a size larger. I bought the large size without a second thought. As a result, the press net was pressed all the way down but didn't touch the powder. So the coffee I brewed was not pressed at all, not extracted at all, just pure bubbles~~~ You ask me how I solved it later? - Put in 4 servings of ingredients, at most one person can drink two cups a day, right? After all, it was the weekend and the couple went to bed late at night.

But the French press cannot make latte, cappuccino, or other fancy coffees. These coffees are all made with espresso as the base, and then different proportions of milk and other ingredients are added. Espresso must be extracted under pressure to get concentrated coffee. So espresso comes out with a layer of crema oil, and it is thicker, while coffee produced by other methods is clearer in color. Let's take a look at the difference in appearance between espresso and non-espresso:

1. Espresso. You can see there is a layer of bubbles on top, and the overall color is opaque. When it is just brewed, the color is actually richer, the color at the bottom is the lightest, and the upper part is basically black, with a light brown layer on the surface, but when it is finished and photographed, it becomes like this.

2. Drip coffee, the overall color is transparent, amber, like whiskey. (Because the coffee powder is gone, there is no photo of the French press, so I can only use the drip coffee. However, neither is espresso, and the appearance is similar)

Let's get back to the point. If you want espresso, you have to buy a coffee machine. One is an orthodox coffee machine, and the other is a capsule machine.

As for the traditional coffee machines, the entry-level ones don’t come with coffee grinders, which is another pitfall. And the high-end fully automatic ones are too expensive.

The taste of capsule machines is relatively stable, but you can't enjoy coffee powder from various origins. You can only drink what the capsule manufacturer gives you. There are stainless steel capsules on Taobao that can be refilled with powder. But according to the reviews, it is not easy to make, and the product tastes light.

The reasons for choosing the capsule machine are:

1. Convenient. No need to grind coffee powder, no need to clean after use. - This is very important. I made watermelon juice in the summer. It was refreshing when I drank it, and the experience of cleaning the juicer after use made me very inclined to the capsule machine.

2. Coffee capsules are easy to store. After opening a bag of Starbucks coffee, it is recommended to drink it within a week. If you use a traditional coffee machine, my family can't finish it within a week. I don't have time to make it in the morning when I go to work, and I can't sleep after drinking coffee at night. I usually drink it on weekends.

3. There is no end to cooking. I don’t pursue freshness, origin, level, etc. The capsule machine is enough to meet my needs.

There are two brands of coffee capsule machines on the market, one is the Nestle Nespresso that I bought, and the other is illy. The illy brand itself is a coffee bean brand, so the coffee itself should be better than Nespresso.

The reason why I chose Nespresso is that it has a richer product line, more types of coffee capsules, and more peripheral products. As for the taste, I personally think I can't taste the difference between the two.

Unboxing officially begins

One day I found a package at the door

Actually, there is nothing much to say about the unboxing, just post some photos. Let's take a look at the workmanship. The metal panel has no burrs and is polished very smoothly. The screw holes are also very round, and the joints are tightly fitted. The workmanship is relatively fine.

The one below can be pulled out like a drawer, making it very convenient for cleaning. The one at the bottom, the one with the serial number painted over, can be flipped up.

If you use a large cup, just turn it up, if you use a small cup, just put it directly on. Suitable for all cup types.

In another unboxing article about a coffee capsule machine, a friend said that buying a coffee capsule machine is not as good as instant coffee. He thought that the coffee capsule machine was full of instant powder. Well, let me share some knowledge with you. I opened a used capsule and saw that it was indeed full of coffee grounds.

Here is another group photo. The instructions, papers, etc. are all made very thick and fine.

I also called the customer service hotline and registered the machine on the official website. I told the customer service guy bluntly that I was purchasing from Taobao. He was very nice and didn't say anything. He was very enthusiastic and told me that the nearest store was in Shanghai. This is another reason why I chose Nespresso. In terms of service, illy's domestic service is not as good as Nespresso's.

Summarize:

advantage:

1. Convenient. It takes less than 2 minutes from preheating to making coffee. If you also count the time for making milk foam, it takes less than 5 minutes. After finishing, the battlefield is clean and there is no need to clean up.

There are only 3 buttons in total, which are quite simple: power button, small cup water outlet, and large cup water outlet.

2. The water volume has a custom function. By pressing and holding the water button, more water can be discharged than the default (with a lighter taste), and the water will be remembered next time you turn on the machine.

3. Fine workmanship, looks beautiful in the kitchen.

4. The taste is good. It is almost the same as what you can buy in a coffee shop.

shortcoming:

1. The price of capsules is relatively high, with different flavors fluctuating around 5 yuan. The limited edition is even more expensive, which is quite luxurious compared to regular instant coffee. But it is similar to the ear-hook type, which depends on your spending power.

As a loser, I tried brewing a capsule twice, the first time I made a latte. The second time it was a little lighter, but I could still taste the coffee flavor.

2. I have prostate problems. After the coffee is made, there are always a few drops that are not clean. This will drip onto the tray below and I have to clean it later. It would be great if I could make it all at once without the problem of dripping.
