No matter what technique or material is used, it can be called "Latte Art". You can actually make your latte beautiful by just using a toothpick! Step 1: Make a cup of espresso Italian coffee machines are expensive, so many families use Italian moka pots instead. But if you want something cheap and convenient, you can try the American-invented "Aero Press". It is easy to operate and clean, and you can use hot water from a water heater to make espresso with crema (coffee oil), and the quality is even better than that of a moka pot. Step 2: Make a pot of dense milk foam Whether the milk foam has a dense texture is the key to tasting cappuccino or latte, and it is also a display of the barista's skills, because the quality of the milk foam reflects his proficiency in controlling high-temperature steam equipment. You don't have to go through so much trouble at home. All you need is a manual milk frothing jug and some tips to easily make dense milk foam. Although it's not as solid as the milk foam made with steam, it still tastes pretty good. 1. Heat the milk to 70℃ and pour it into the milk frother (about half height). 2. Quickly pump air into the milk until the milk foam overflows from the edge of the cup lid. 3. Slow down and beat for another 30 seconds to make the milk foam more dense. 4. Remove the top of the milk froth pot and let it sit for 60 to 90 seconds to allow the structure of the milk froth to gradually stabilize. Tips for manual milk frothing ●The fatter the milk is, the easier it is to make dense milk foam. ●The milk frother must be pulled to a height higher than the surface of the milk so that air can be pumped in to make the milk foam, but do not pull it to the bottom, otherwise the movement will be unsmooth. Step 3: Decorate a cup of good coffee There are many ways to create latte art. The most difficult one is the pour-in method, and the simplest one is the hand-painted method. Pour-in molding method - leaves The focus of the exercise is to move the steel cup backward while shaking it, to change the swing amplitude from large to small, and to end it in a straight line. The following 5 steps should be completed in about 3 seconds. 1. Pour the brewed espresso into a coffee cup and sprinkle some cocoa powder to help make the pattern more vivid. 2. Use a spoon to scrape off the coarser milk foam on the top of the milk frother, pour it into a pointed steel cup and shake it in a circular motion. 3. Hold the coffee cup in one hand and the steel cup in the other, and slowly pour the milk foam into the center of the coffee. When it is about 80% full, pull the steel cup to the front of the center point and put the cup straight. 4. Lower the steel cup, start to shake it left and right to create an arc-shaped line, and gradually reduce the amplitude, pushing it outward in the manner of water ripples, while the steel cup moves backwards at the same time. 5. When it is pulled close to the edge of the cup, the steel cup is pulled forward in a line, and the milk foam is quickly collected at the end. Hand-painted shaping method - geometric flowers and grass Using chocolate sauce, cocoa powder, and a toothpick, you can draw beautiful patterns on the surface of coffee. 1. Steps 1 and 2 are the same as the "Pour-in Method". 2. Use a spoon to half-block the milk foam and slowly pour the milk into the center of the espresso. When it is about 70% full, scrape the milk foam and cover the upper layer until the cup is full. At this time, a circle of brown will appear around the white circular coffee surface. Geometric flowers Use chocolate paste to draw 3 concentric circles on the surface of the coffee. Use a toothpick to draw 8 symmetrical lines from the center outwards. Grass Use chocolate sauce to draw two continuous S-shaped lines on the edge of the coffee surface. Use a toothpick to draw a line through the middle of the S-shaped line and pull out the tail. It is recommended to use your own creativity to create a unique Latte Art. Disclaimer: All the pictures in this article are from the Internet.
