Wonderful taste: a new attempt at civet coffee beans

In the coffee world, there is a very special coffee bean that has attracted much attention, that is, cat poop coffee beans. Although the name sounds quite disgusting, it is said that this coffee has a unique taste and aroma. Recently, I also tried a cup of cat poop coffee myself and explored it in depth.

What are Kopi Luwak coffee beans?

First of all, we need to clarify what cat poop coffee beans are. In fact, it is not really made from the substances excreted by cats. Instead, there is a plant called "musk fruit" in Southeast Asia. After the fruit matures, it will be eaten by wild animals such as palm muntjacs and anteaters, and fermented to produce special chemical changes when passing through the digestive tract.

When these animals excrete, people collect the feces wrapped in mucus containing undigested musk seeds, wash and dry them to obtain the so-called cat feces coffee beans.

Unique production process

Although the production process sounds quite disgusting, in fact, this special production process is the key to the wonderful taste of cat feces coffee beans. Due to a series of chemical changes caused by the fermentation of musk fruit seeds in the animal digestive tract, the coffee beans contain more complex and rich aroma components.

After the feces are collected, they are carefully processed and screened. First, the surface attachments are removed and high temperature treatment is applied to kill bacteria. Then comes the most important step - manually removing the peel and pulp, and drying the remaining part.

Tasting Experience

When I got a cup of civet coffee, I couldn't help but be full of curiosity and anticipation. When I smelled its rich aroma for the first time, I was deeply attracted.

Before tasting, the shop assistant patiently explained how to enjoy it correctly before I carefully took a sip. At first, I could feel a strong fruity aroma accompanied by a light chocolate flavor. As the coffee lingered in my mouth, more layers gradually emerged.

The unique acidity and bitterness of this coffee bean are intertwined, giving it a silky and smooth taste. At the same time, you can also feel a slight earthy smell on the tip of your tongue, as if you are in nature.

Good for health?

In addition to its unique taste, cat feces coffee beans are also believed to be good for health. They are said to contain rich antioxidants and multiple vitamins, and have the effects of refreshing the mind and promoting metabolism.

Of course, you should also be careful to drink in moderation when enjoying civet coffee. Excessive intake may cause adverse reactions such as panic, insomnia, etc.

Conclusion

Overall, cat feces coffee beans are indeed an amazing and curious new attempt. It not only brings a unique taste and aroma, but also has certain health benefits.

However, due to the special production process and its unusual name, Kopi Luwak is not a choice for everyone. But for those who are brave enough to try new things and pursue a different experience, it is undoubtedly a coffee variety worth trying.
