American coffee in American coffee culture

American coffee in American coffee culture

Americano is one of the most common coffees. Like other coffees, Americano also has its unique coffee culture.

One of the biggest characteristics of American coffee is the casualness of its preparation. Unlike the dogmatic and old-fashioned Europeans, Americans like to be unrestrained and unconventional. American coffee is an indispensable part of Americans' daily life, and many people can't even live without coffee. Whether at home, in the office or in public places, you can see all kinds of coffee machines and coffee vending machines. According to statistics, the total amount of coffee consumed by Americans each year accounts for 1/3 of the world's coffee consumption, making the United States the country with the largest coffee consumption in the world.

Americans live in a fast pace, unlike Europeans and Middle Easterners, they don't have much time for entertainment and life. They pour a large cup of hot water into espresso, and the taste of American coffee is lighter than other coffees, so much so that industry experts sneer at it, thinking that American coffee is bland and of poor quality.

I remember an American friend telling me that when the first Apollo moon landing program failed, the astronauts faced a life-or-death decision, but Americans were not worried. As long as they had American coffee, they could face any danger calmly. This shows how profound the influence of American coffee is on American values and even American social culture.

Americano is very easy to make. You just need to pour 300-470 ml of hot water into double espresso. After being diluted with water, the taste of Americano is lighter than that of ordinary espresso. Its aroma and taste are somewhat damaged, and the aftertaste is not as long-lasting as that of espresso, but the caffeine content is not reduced. In general, Americano has lower calories than ordinary coffee.
