Material preparation

First, we need to prepare the following materials:

  • A large iron bucket
  • An electric fan
  • A thermometer
  • Some wood chips or bamboo charcoal as a heating source
  • Some green coffee beans

Steps

Step one: Transform the iron barrel and electric fan.

First, we need to make several small holes in the bottom of the iron barrel for ventilation and exhaust. Then, we need to make two small holes on the side of the iron barrel, one for inserting the thermometer and the other for ventilation. Next, we need to fix the electric fan on one side above the iron barrel and make sure it can work properly.

Step 2: Prepare the heating source.

We can use wood chips or bamboo charcoal as a heating source. Put the wood chips or bamboo charcoal into a small container and light them. Then place the container in the center of the bottom of the iron barrel.

Step 3: Start roasting the coffee beans.

First, pour the green coffee beans evenly into the iron bucket. Then, turn on the electric fan and adjust the appropriate speed to ensure air circulation. At the same time, observe the temperature changes on the thermometer and adjust the firepower of the heating source as needed.

Precautions

- Be careful with fire and high temperature objects during operation to avoid accidents.

- Ensure adequate ventilation to remove exhaust fumes.

- Control the time and fire power according to different types and flavors of coffee beans.

- Clean up residues and dust promptly after operation.

- During the roasting process, the coffee beans will make a "first pop" and "second pop" sound, which is normal.

Summarize

With the above simple steps, we can easily make a coffee bean roaster. Enjoying the aroma of freshly roasted coffee at home will become a pleasant experience. But remember to pay attention to safety during operation and adjust the roasting time and fire size according to personal taste. I wish you enjoy delicious homemade coffee!
