Italian coffee espresso

Italian espresso, known to Americans as "Espresso", is a type of coffee that is extracted by quickly passing high-pressure steam through coffee powder. This type of coffee has a strong taste. SCA "Espresso is a 25-35 ml (0.85-1.2 oz in the case of a double espresso) beverage prepared with 7-9 grams (14-18 grams in the case of a double espresso) of coffee powder, using clean water at 195°–205°F (90.5-96.1℃), 9-10 atmospheres of pressure, and the extraction time is 20-30 seconds depending on the coarseness of the grind.

How to taste Italian espresso? Look at the color, such as the color, uniformity, thickness, and extension of the crema; smell the aroma, such as caramel, nuts, and chocolate; taste the sweetness, sourness, mellowness, and aftertaste of the coffee, especially the "bitter and sweet" taste of Italian espresso.

What is fancy coffee? Italian coffee?

The so-called "fancy coffee" refers to coffee with various condiments added in different proportions to espresso, often as the basis of coffee drinks mixed with other ingredients (such as milk or cocoa powder) (that is, what we often call fancy coffee), such as coffee with milk, cream, chocolate, ice cream, various foreign wines, juices, etc. Such as cappuccino, latte, mocha coffee, Viennese coffee, Irish coffee, macchiato coffee, etc.

Fancy coffee Latte

It means "milk" in Italian, so when you order a latte in Italy, you will only be served a cup of milk, not coffee. In China, some coffee shops also have flavored lattes, such as matcha latte and purple sweet potato latte. Remember, they do not contain coffee.

Latte (200ml per cup): 1 shot of espresso 30 ml + milk

Cappuccino (180ml per cup): 1 shot of espresso + milk + milk foam

Fancy coffee Affogato

The word "flood" means "flood" in Italian. Pour the espresso onto the ice cream ball to submerge it. It is not only visually appealing but also a very delicious coffee, which is very popular among ladies in summer.

Fancy Coffee Flat White

It is still unclear whether it was invented in Australia or New Zealand. It was initially translated into "xiaobai", "pingbai" and "aobai" in China. After being introduced into China by Starbucks, it was translated into "flat white". Compared with ordinary latte, its milk foam is thinner, more delicate and smoother, and the coffee flavor is stronger.

When you drink cappuccino, you will feel a layer of milk foam more than 1cm thick, with a relatively soft taste. Although Flat White also has some foam, it is more delicate, with a foam body of less than 5mm. The milk and espresso are highly integrated, and the taste is relatively smooth.

Flat white (200ml per cup): The basic ingredient is two portions of espresso. Some places will extract the espresso for a longer time on this basis, two portions of Ristretto (Ristretto: 1:1 Espresso)

Piccolo Latte extracts about 20ml of espresso, and the cup used is about 100ml. Flat White extracts about 30ml of espresso, and the cup used is about 175ml. Latte extracts 30ml of espresso, and the cup is about 225ml (usually no more).

Fancy Coffee Caffé éMocha Mocha Coffee

The recipe of Mocha is relatively complex. It is based on espresso and milk, and there is also chocolate sauce. The top is not milk foam, but whipped cream. It is often squeezed with chocolate sauce, or sprinkled with cocoa powder and cinnamon powder, which has a unique flavor. Because of its "rich content", it is usually sold at a higher price and in a larger cup. Both chocolate and cream are sweet, so Mocha coffee is a model of bitter and sweet combination.
