Compared to Arabica, Robusta coffee beans are easier to grow and have higher yields. They are mainly grown in low-altitude areas such as Brazil, Vietnam and Indonesia. The climatic conditions and soil characteristics of these regions make Robusta beans have higher caffeine content and lower acidity levels.

Robusta coffee is often used to make espresso or blended coffee due to its rich and strong taste. They have a distinct bitter and burnt taste and a rougher taste. However, there are still some differences between different origins, such as Vietnamese Robusta with a distinct sweet aftertaste and Indonesian Robusta with a long aftertaste.

Two types of beans

Arabica and Robusta coffee beans have different uses in different occasions. Due to the higher quality and complex flavor of Arabica beans, they are usually used alone to make pure and elegant coffee. Whether it is hand pouring, dripping or French press, the unique and delicate taste of Arabica beans can be displayed.

On the contrary, Robusta beans are more suitable for blended coffee or espresso. They can provide a strong and rich flavor to blended coffee and can maintain its sharp taste when paired with milk. In addition, using Robusta beans in espresso can increase its bitterness and body.
