Brewing

Batch brewing for a shared table

A practical batch-brewing starting recipe with clear steps and adjustments.

Your starting point

Use a scale, a timer, clean equipment and good drinking water. The quantities below are an original practice recipe to help you compare changes, not an official certification standard.

Step by step

  1. Check the machine’s capacity and the filter size. Use 60 g of coffee for 1,000 g of water as an initial ratio if the machine supports that batch.
  2. Distribute medium-ground coffee evenly in the filter. Fill with clean drinking water and run the normal cycle.
  3. Stir the finished batch gently in the server if the design allows it. Serve promptly or move it to a clean insulated server.
  4. Record the coffee, grind setting, water input and actual brewed yield. Change one variable for the next batch.

Taste, adjust, repeat

For larger batches, use the serving planner and allow for grounds retention. A brewer’s fill markings may not equal the final drink volume.

Keep a brew note

Save the bean name, roast date, dose, water, beverage yield, grind, temperature, time and one sensory observation. Repeat before changing several variables at once.
