Your starting point
Use a scale, a timer, clean equipment and good drinking water. The quantities below are an original practice recipe to help you compare changes, not an official certification standard.
Step by step
- Use a clean covered food-safe container. Add 80 g of coarse-ground coffee and 800 g of cold drinking water.
- Mix to wet the grounds, cover and refrigerate while steeping. Label the start time and ingredients.
- After about 12 hours, filter with clean equipment and taste a small portion. Extend the next batch only if you prefer it.
- Keep the filtered drink refrigerated in a clean sealed container. Prepare small batches and discard drinks that have been mishandled.
Taste, adjust, repeat
This is a home starting recipe, not a validated commercial preservation process. Dilution changes strength; record added water and milk separately.
Keep a brew note
Save the bean name, roast date, dose, water, beverage yield, grind, temperature, time and one sensory observation. Repeat before changing several variables at once.
