How to brew delicious and fragrant coffee after grinding coffee beans at home

Coffee is a must-have drink for many people every morning, and ground coffee beans can bring a more intense and fragrant taste. Here is how to use a home coffee bean grinder as a basis for making a delicious and fragrant cup of coffee.

First of all, it is very important to choose coffee beans that suit your taste. Coffee beans produced in different regions have different flavor characteristics. For example, coffee beans produced in Brazil usually have a sweet flavor like nuts and chocolate, while coffee beans produced in Colombia tend to have a refreshing acidity like citrus and fruit. When buying, you can try different types or mixed varieties to find the one that best suits your taste preferences.

Secondly, when using a household grinder, you need to pay attention to adjusting the degree of grinding. The coarseness will directly affect the contact area and time length between water and coffee particles during the extraction process. For brewing methods such as drip or French press, coarser particles can extend the extraction time and reduce the extraction of bitter taste, while for espresso machines, finer particles are required to ensure sufficient extraction time and fully release the coffee aroma. Therefore, when grinding beans, you can adjust according to the brewing equipment you use and your personal taste preferences.

Finally, to make a delicious and fragrant cup of coffee, you also need to pay attention to the water temperature and ratio. Generally speaking, when pouring hot water onto the ground coffee beans, the water temperature should be between 90℃ and 96℃. Too low or too high water temperature will affect the acidity, sweetness and bitterness of the coffee. At the same time, the ratio of coffee to water should also be controlled when brewing. It is usually recommended to mix about 500 ml of water for every 30 grams of powder.
