How to prepare a coffee blend?

The blended coffee with different flavors has become the representative of each coffee shop.

Whether it is a boutique coffee shop that has a variety of coffee beans, a store that sells coffee beans, or a general coffee shop that is not so particular about the type of coffee, almost all of them have a "combination coffee" that is considered the "signature of the store." Each store has a different flavor, but if the signature coffee is not good, it is a shame for the store!

For the store, the use of mixed coffee beans (also known as recipe beans) can modify the shortcomings of individual coffee beans and present a flavor that most people like; from a business perspective, recipe beans are products that mix different prices to adjust the selling price. In addition, as a "signature coffee", a balanced flavor is of course a prerequisite, so that customers can taste the same flavor whenever they visit. In the case that it is not possible to guarantee the purchase of the same coffee beans every time, it is also important to continuously reproduce the same aroma by blending coffee beans.

The first step in blending coffee is to start by mixing the roasted beans.

Store operators have to consider the above-mentioned many restrictions when mixing formula beans, but when you make it at home, it is a very pleasant process to simply pursue and create the flavor you like. Next, let's take a look at the actual steps of blending integrated coffee!

The most basic method is to mix the cooked beans and then grind and brew them. If you mix the raw beans first and then start roasting, it is easy to roast unevenly because you need to roast beans of different particle sizes and moisture content at the same time. As for large-scale enterprises or factories that need to produce a large amount of mixed coffee, because it is time-consuming and labor-intensive and costly to roast them in batches according to the types of raw beans, sometimes they will adopt the method of mixing the raw beans first and then roasting; however, this can only be achieved under many conditions such as large-scale equipment, and it is generally not handled in this way.

When mixing green beans, the amount is usually calculated by "volume" rather than weight. When making it at home, you can use a measuring spoon as a reference. If you want to mix a 1:1 ratio, use 1 spoon of each of the two types of green beans; if you want to mix a 2:3 ratio, use 2 spoons of one type of green beans and 3 spoons of the other type to mix. It should be noted that the smaller the amount of green beans, the greater the deviation of the finished product of the same recipe. Considering the subsequent adjustments or reproducibility, a certain amount of green beans should be mixed. Even when trying to mix the ratio, you should mix enough green beans to brew several cups of coffee.
