Hand-brewed coffee tutorial and production process method

△The essence of brewing coffee: extraction & filtration

The basic equipment you need to make your own brewed coffee is a hand grinder, a filter cup (and filter paper), and a kettle. With the above precise equipment, you can easily brew a cup of delicious coffee. If you don't have a grinder, you can also buy vacuum-packed coffee powder bricks, which saves time and effort.

The filter supports the filter paper, pour freshly ground coffee powder into the filter paper and gently flatten it. Then, use a kettle to pour hot water into the filter paper containing coffee powder: after the hot water is in full contact with the coffee powder, the beautiful ingredients in it are extracted, and then the coffee liquid is separated from the coffee powder through the filter paper.

How should we do it specifically?

Preparation : Prepare coffee powder and water: Use water at 92-96 degrees, not boiling water. Water above 96 degrees can destroy the oil in the coffee, making the coffee bitter. Water that is too cold will not brew the coffee flavor, and the coffee will be sour and astringent.

The water temperature can be adjusted according to the degree of baking.

The recommended water temperature for light and light-medium baking is 94-98°C;

The recommended water temperature for medium and medium-dark roasts is 90-94°C;

The recommended water temperature for deep baking is 86-90℃.

Fold the filter paper: First fold the bottom of the filter paper inwards, then fold the sides in the opposite direction. Spread the folded filter paper and place it in the filter cup, making sure the filter paper fits the filter cup as closely as possible. Place the filter cup on the sharing pot.

Warming the cup: pour the hot water from the hand-brewed kettle slowly along the wall of the filter cup. A small amount is enough. First, it can make the filter paper stick to the wall of the cup more closely. Second, it can remove the smell of the filter paper and warm the cup at the same time. When the sharing kettle is warm, pour out the hot water.

Pour in coffee powder: Pour 10 grams of coffee powder into the filter cup, and gently shake the filter cup to make the surface of the coffee powder flat.

Steaming: Pour 180ml of heated pure water into the hand brewing pot, and control the water temperature between 88℃ and 92℃. If the temperature is too high, the coffee will be bitter, and if the temperature is too low, the coffee will be sour. Pour the hot water slowly in a circle from the middle of the coffee powder to soak the coffee powder. When the first drop of coffee begins to drip into the sharing pot, stop pouring water. Steam for 10~20 seconds.

Fill the pot in batches: Return the scale under the pot to zero and continue to slowly pour in 75ml of hot water in a circular motion. Wait for 10 seconds and then continue to pour in the remaining hot water in a circular motion.

Pour into a coffee cup: Pour the coffee in the sharing pot into your favorite coffee cup and enjoy your own results. Remember to warm the cup in advance so that the aroma of the coffee can be released to the greatest extent.

In the morning, if you can prepare a hearty breakfast for yourself, and then make a cup of delicious coffee, enjoying the happiness surrounded by the aroma, gently wet the filter paper, pour in the coffee powder and flatten it, then patiently inject hot water, and finally drip filter and serve. Don't just throw away the brewed coffee grounds. Although the extractable and soluble substances in the coffee grounds have been extracted during the first brewing, the remaining grounds still have value that can be utilized.

Fertilizer for plants

Sprinkle coffee grounds on the soil of plants that prefer acidic soil, and the plants will grow better. Azaleas and blueberries are such plants, and they will grow well with the nutrients of coffee. The color of hydrangeas will change depending on the pH of the soil. Sprinkle coffee grounds on the soil and water it, which will make the soil pH acidic, and the hydrangeas will turn from pink to blue.

Remove the smell from your hands

Garlic, salmon, cilantro, these foods taste great after cooking, but they leave a bad smell on your hands, which can linger for hours. Rub your hands with a handful of coffee grounds and then rinse with warm water.

Eliminate odors from ashtrays

No matter how you clean the ashtray, there will still be a strong smell of cigarettes; just put a layer of coffee grounds in the clean ashtray, the ashtray will be filled with coffee aroma, and the smell of cigarettes will disappear.
