What are the benefits of drinking coffee? Drinking coffee for a long time is harmful to the body. Most people often make two mistakes.

Nowadays, many people think that drinking coffee can refresh the mind just like drinking tea. Many people who need to work overtime or stay up late will choose to drink coffee to refresh themselves. Some people even say that drinking coffee can cure and prevent diseases, and its health benefits are similar to those of tea. In fact, drinking too much coffee is not only bad for the body, but also harmful. Drinking too much coffee can cause a series of "coffee syndromes" that are not good for health.

1. Drinking coffee to wake up the mind is actually a psychological effect

British researchers have found that drinking coffee in the morning to wake up the brain may just be a psychological effect. Researchers from the University of East London in the UK recruited 88 volunteers aged 18 to 47, all of whom were coffee lovers and drank at least 2 cups a day. The researchers divided the volunteers into two groups and conducted a series of tests to assess their intellectual performance, reaction time and emotions. The final evaluation results showed that the excitement level of those who often drink caffeinated beverages is equivalent to the excitement level of those who rarely drink coffee after drinking a placebo.

2. Drinking too much coffee can affect your health

American medical experts have conducted a long-term survey and statistics, and found that people who drink 5 cups of coffee a day have twice the incidence of heart disease than those who do not drink coffee. If some people drink 3 cups of strong coffee in a row, their heart rate will increase, blood pressure will rise significantly, and some will have symptoms such as shortness of breath and nervousness; and if they drink 10 cups of strong coffee in a row, they will show obvious symptoms of poisoning such as blurred vision, tinnitus, muscle tremors, and arrhythmia. It can be seen that drinking more coffee does not necessarily bring us health.

Although coffee is good, it is not advisable to drink too much. You should know when to stop. Generally speaking, it is best for each person to drink no more than 3 cups of coffee a day. People who are sensitive to caffeine, such as patients with hypertension or the elderly, need to drink more. In addition, the metabolism of many drugs will interact with the metabolism of caffeine.

Some of the effects are to enhance the side effects of caffeine, some are to enhance the effects of drugs, and some are to reduce the effects of drugs. There are too many drugs that can interact with caffeine, and we may not be able to remember them all. Therefore, it is best not to drink coffee while taking medication.

1. Some people believe that drinking coffee can cause dehydration because people will feel the urge to urinate soon after drinking coffee. In fact, this is because caffeine has a mild diuretic effect. This loss can be compensated by drinking water. Therefore, drinking coffee does not cause dehydration.

2. Some people add a lot of sugar when drinking coffee, which will reflexively stimulate the islet cells in the pancreas to secrete a large amount of insulin. Excessive insulin can lower blood sugar. If blood sugar is too low, symptoms of hypoglycemia such as palpitations, dizziness, limb weakness, and drowsiness will appear. Therefore, it is not advisable to add too much sugar when drinking coffee.
