Coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world. Coffee beans are an important raw material for making coffee. From tree to cup, coffee beans go through a delicate process to become the mellow journey we love. First, let's look at how coffee beans are grown and harvested. Coffee trees typically grow at high altitudes and are best suited to tropical and subtropical climates. When the trees bear red, ripe berries, farmers begin to pick them. Next comes the processing. First, the picked fruit is peeled to expose the kernel that contains two seeds (i.e. coffee beans). Then, the pulp and mucus are removed through fermentation, washing and drying, and the kernel is completely dried. After processing, the clean and hard coffee beans need to be graded and sorted. This step mainly judges and screens based on factors such as size, shape and color, and stores different quality grades or types separately. Next is the roasting process. Roasting is one of the most important steps in coffee beans. It not only changes the appearance and color of coffee beans, but also affects their taste and aroma. By controlling the temperature and time, the coffee beans are heated to a certain degree, causing a chemical reaction inside them, and gradually forming the mellow flavor we love. Finally, it’s the brewing process. At home or in a coffee shop, we can use a variety of methods to brew coffee. Whether it’s drip, espresso or French press, each method has its own unique flavor and taste. From tree to cup, every step has an important impact on the final coffee quality. Only after going through this delicate and complex process can we enjoy a cup of mellow and delicious coffee. |
