Do you know the three major varieties of coffee beans?

Coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world, and coffee beans are an important raw material for making coffee. Globally, there are many different types of coffee beans, but three major varieties are widely recognized and used. These three varieties are Arabica, Robusta, and Liberica.

Let's start with Arabica coffee beans. Arabica is one of the most common and popular coffee bean varieties. It is usually grown in high altitude areas such as Colombia, Brazil and Ethiopia. Arabica beans have a lower caffeine content and higher acidity levels, making them smoother and more delicate with a floral and fruity aroma.

Next is Robusta coffee beans. Contrary to Arabica, Robusta grows in low altitude areas, such as Vietnam, Brazil and Indonesia. Compared with Arabica, Robusta has a stronger aftertaste, contains higher caffeine content and lower acidity level. This makes Robusta beans have a stronger bitter taste and a rougher taste.

Finally, we have the Liberica coffee bean. Liberica is the least common and least understood of the three varieties. It is mainly grown in West Africa, such as Ivory Coast, Ghana and Liberia. Compared with Arabica and Robusta, Liberica beans have a larger and irregular shape and a special and rich woody aroma.

In summary, Arabica, Robusta and Liberica are the three main varieties of coffee beans that are most popular and widely used. Each variety has its own unique and pleasant taste characteristics, so consumers can choose coffee that suits their taste needs based on their personal preferences.
