Perfect tutorial for hand brewed drip coffee

Hand-brew drip coffee is a simple and exquisite method of making coffee, which allows you to taste the purest coffee flavor. The following is a perfect hand-brew drip coffee tutorial to help you easily make a cup of mellow and rich coffee.

Prepare tools and materials

First, we need to prepare the following tools and materials:

  • Freshly ground drip coffee beans: Choose high-quality, fresh beans.
  • Kettle: It is best to use a kettle made of stainless steel or glass.
  • Filter paper: Choose filter paper with good air permeability and good filtering effect.
  • Electronic scale: for weighing water and coffee beans.
  • Thermometer: used to measure water temperature.
  • Stirring stick or spoon: Used to stir and mix the coffee and water.

Step 1: Preheat the appliance

First, heat the kettle to a comfortable temperature. Generally speaking, the best brewing temperature for coffee is between 90°C-96°C. Use a thermometer to make sure the water is within this range.

Step 2: Prepare filter paper and drip coffee beans

Place the filter paper in the pour-over kettle and run it through hot water to remove any impurities and flavors that may be on the filter paper.

Then, weigh the appropriate amount of drip coffee beans. Usually, you need to use about 10 grams of coffee beans for every 100 ml of water.

Step 3: Add appropriate amount of hot water

Pour in hot water that is 1 times the weight of the coffee powder (i.e. 10 grams of coffee powder corresponds to 100 ml of hot water), allow it to evenly wet all the coffee powder, and wait for about 30 seconds for it to expand and release carbon dioxide.

Step 4: Slowly add the remaining hot water

Next, wait about 30 seconds after step 3 and slowly begin pouring the remaining hot water in. Pour the hot water evenly over the coffee grounds to ensure adequate infusion and extraction.

Step 5: Wait for the brewing to complete

Once all the hot water has been poured in, you can wait for the coffee to brew. This process usually takes 2-4 minutes, depending on personal taste and type of coffee beans.

Step 6: Enjoy the delicious drip coffee

When the brewing time is over, remove the hand-brewed kettle from the cup and gently shake it to mix the sediment at the bottom with the upper liquid. Then, pour the drip coffee into the prepared cup and enjoy the delicious and mellow hand-brewed drip coffee.

Tips:

- If you want a stronger taste, you can increase the ratio between coffee powder and hot water.

- If you prefer a lighter, softer taste, you can reduce the proportion.

- Adjusting the coarseness of the ground beans will also affect the taste of the coffee, and can be adjusted according to personal taste.

- Keep the hand brewing pot and cup clean to ensure that every cup of drip coffee can achieve the best taste.

With the perfect hand-brew drip coffee tutorial above, you can easily make a cup of fragrant and rich coffee with a delicate taste. Try it!
