The correct way to brew coffee

Coffee is an indispensable drink for many people in the morning. It can refresh the mind and make people energetic. However, brewing a cup of delicious coffee requires certain skills and steps. The following will introduce the correct method of brewing coffee.

Choose high-quality coffee beans

The first step is to choose high-quality coffee beans. Good coffee beans determine the final taste and aroma. You can choose freshly roasted and well-packaged whole beans or grind beans that have been kept fresh, well-preserved, and free of odor.

Grind to the appropriate coarseness

Next, it’s time to grind appropriately for the type and device you’re using. For devices like drip machines or French presses that require a longer infusion to release aromas and flavors, you should choose a medium to coarse particle size, while for quick extraction methods like espresso machines or pour-overs, you should choose a medium to fine powder.

Prepare a clean coffee pot and filter

Before brewing coffee, make sure the coffee pot and filter are clean. Any impurities or residue may affect the final taste. You can rinse it with hot water and wipe it clean with a paper towel.

Correctly control water temperature and ratio

Next is to control the water temperature and the ratio of coffee powder to water. Generally speaking, it is recommended to use hot water at 90-96°C, which can better extract the aroma and taste of the coffee beans. As for the ratio, 1:15 to 1:18 is usually used (that is, 1 gram of coffee powder requires 15 to 18 ml of water).

Proper soaking time

Steeping time will vary depending on the equipment you use and your personal taste preferences, but generally speaking, it should take 2-4 minutes in a drip machine, 4-6 minutes in a French press, and only 20-30 seconds in an espresso machine.

Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee

Finally, pour in hot water, wait for a while and pour the coffee into the cup. At this time, you can add appropriate amount of sugar or milk according to your personal taste. Then stir gently and you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee.

In short, brewing a delicious cup of coffee requires choosing high-quality coffee beans, grinding with the right coarseness, preparing a clean pot and filter, controlling the water temperature and ratio, and the appropriate soaking time. Only by mastering the correct method can you enjoy a coffee with a rich taste and strong aroma.
