Coffee Brewing Method Revealed

Coffee is a must-have drink for many people in the morning. It not only refreshes the mind, but also has a rich taste and aroma. However, how to brew a perfect cup of coffee is a technical job. This article will reveal several common coffee brewing methods for you.

1. Drip coffee

Drip coffee is one of the most common and simplest ways to prepare it. All you need is a paper filter, a filter, and ground coffee to get started.

First, place filter paper on the filter and wet it to remove the paper taste. Next, add the appropriate amount of coffee powder to the filter and shake it gently to distribute it evenly.

After that, pour in an appropriate amount of hot water (temperature is about 90°C) to allow the water to fully contact and soak the coffee powder. After waiting for about 30 seconds, slowly pour in the remaining hot water until the process is complete.

The whole process requires controlling the water flow rate and the soaking time of the coffee powder to obtain the ideal taste and aroma.

2. French Press

Also known as a "French pot," a French press provides a richer, fuller coffee taste. Brewing coffee with a French press requires some skill.

First, pour the ground coffee powder into a French pot and add appropriate amount of hot water (temperature is about 90°C). Then, use a stirring stick to gently stir the coffee powder and water to fully mix.

Next, cover the filter and slowly push the plunger down. This allows the coffee to penetrate to the bottom and keep it there for enough steeping time.

After waiting for about 4-5 minutes, slowly lift the piston upwards. At this time, the filter will isolate the coffee grounds settled at the bottom, leaving a cup of fragrant and delicious coffee.

3. Espresso

Espresso is a strong, full-bodied type of coffee that is often used to make espresso-based drinks such as lattes and cappuccinos.

To make espresso, you need an espresso machine. First, place the appropriate amount of ground coffee into the filter basket and tamp it down lightly with your hands.

Next, insert the filter basket into the machine and open the steam valve to release any remaining air. Then, start the machine and wait for the water temperature to reach approximately 90°C.

When the water temperature reaches the right level, place an empty cup under the cup and press the button to start brewing. The machine stops after the brewing process is completed within 30 seconds.

You can control the strength and flavor of your espresso by adjusting the brewing time and the amount of powder to suit your personal taste.

4. Cold Brew

Cold brew is a special brewing method that provides a softer and more refreshing taste. This method requires a longer brewing time.

First, add an appropriate amount of ground coffee powder into the container and pour in cold water. Then, use a stirring stick to gently stir the coffee powder and water to fully mix.

Cover the container and place it in the refrigerator to let it steep for at least 12 hours or even longer. After the waiting time is up, filter out the coffee grounds using a paper filter or filter.

Finally, you can add the appropriate amount of ice cubes and condiments according to your personal taste to make a refreshing and delicious cup of cold brew coffee.

Summarize

The above introduces several common coffee brewing methods: drip, French press, espresso and cold brew. Each method has its own characteristics and applicable scenarios. Please choose the appropriate method according to your personal preferences to make a perfect cup of coffee.

Whether you like a strong or refreshing taste, or pursue a different flavor experience, as long as you master the correct techniques and proportions, you can enjoy professional-level coffee quality at home!
