Coffee health tips

There is a reason why coffee is rated as one of the most popular beverages in the world. In addition to its rich taste and significant effect of refreshing the mind, it is also reflected in the matching culture, making drinking coffee not only beneficial to the body and mind, but also a symbol of status.

I previously published an article on how to drink coffee correctly, which received a good response. But some people thought it was not comprehensive enough, so I am here to explain it in detail today.

1. Drink according to your physical condition

Each of us has a different physical condition.

1. Sensitive

Some people are very sensitive to caffeine, and drinking just a little bit may affect their sleep at night. For these people, if there are no special needs, Xiaoka suggests that they try not to drink coffee after 2 pm.

2. Insensitive

If you are not so sensitive to caffeine, drinking a lot will not affect your sleep, so it doesn't matter when you drink coffee. However, although coffee is good, it should be consumed in moderation. Drinking too much will not only make you too excited to sleep, affect your mood, but also have a great stimulation to your stomach.

2. Should I add sugar to my coffee?

The taste of coffee is mainly bitter, astringent and sour, and many people are not used to it. Therefore, adding sugar, milk, condensed milk, etc. to coffee is becoming more and more popular. But this also depends on the individual.

Why do we say this? Let us first give an example.

In order to cover up the bitter taste of coffee, people often add a proper amount of sugar, which makes the coffee more fragrant and delicious. However, for some people who want to lose weight, adding sugar is inappropriate.

Black coffee can increase your feeling of fullness because it is low in calories, thus achieving the effect of weight loss, but sugar is different.

After sugar enters the human body, part of it is broken down by insulin to supply the energy needed by the human body, while the other part is synthesized into glycogen and stored under the action of insulin for emergency use.

But glycogen has an upper limit. If you consume too much, the sugar will be converted into fat and stored for later use. The original intention is to lose weight through coffee, but the result is that the more you drink, the fatter you get.

On the other hand, if you don’t want to lose weight, adding sugar to coffee will not only make the taste richer, but also make you feel fuller.

Therefore, what to drink with coffee depends on each person's needs.

3. Drink coffee in moderation

Moderate coffee intake is good for health, but drinking too much may not be so friendly to the body.

We still need to determine the amount of coffee to drink based on our personal constitution.

Most people recommend that you do not consume more than 200 mg of caffeine per day, which means no more than 3 cups of coffee per day (instant coffee in small packages).

However, the caffeine content of different types of coffee varies greatly, so it is difficult to quantify it. Let's take coffee shops as an example. Generally speaking, a regular medium cup (250-280 ml) of coffee in a coffee shop contains 150 to 200 mg of caffeine, so it is best not to drink more than 2 cups a day.

Except for those who need to stay up late to work overtime on a manuscript, please stroke your sparse hair and buy as much as you can afford.

Remember to buy insurance first.

4. You can add some cinnamon to your coffee

Xiaoka's latest attempt is to add some cinnamon powder to coffee. I have to say, it tastes very good.

Many people don’t know what cinnamon is. In fact, it is a very common condiment in our lives. Braised pork and stewed spare ribs cannot be without the fragrance of cinnamon.

It is also a traditional Chinese medicine that can treat cold pain in the heart and abdomen, vomiting and diarrhea due to deficiency and cold. If there is no doctor's prescription, it can be used as a spice in daily cooking.

Why does it mix with coffee?

Studies have shown that cinnamon can lower blood sugar, cholesterol and triglycerides, and has a good effect on improving high blood sugar and high blood lipids.

So adding cinnamon not only enriches its taste, but is also very healthy.

But everything should be consumed in moderation. Eating too much cinnamon is not good for your health. Just try adding a little bit occasionally, just to experience it.

No matter how popular coffee is, remember to drink it in moderation.
