Instant coffee review! Don’t worry if you are tired of Nestle, you still have many choices

Although many reports say that instant coffee is unhealthy and many people think that instant coffee cannot be considered coffee, there are always times in life when we need instant coffee. This time, I tested 5 instant coffees, hoping to bring some freshness to you who are tired of Nescafe coffee.

The five instant coffees are:

• Malaysia Old Town Original White Coffee

• Malaysia Yichang Low Sugar White Coffee

• Singapore Casino White Coffee

• Taiwan Mr. Brown Coffee Blue Mountain Flavor

Each instant coffee has a different amount per pack , and you can see the difference when you pour it into the cup. The Old Town and Yichang packs are close to 1/4 cup, while the G7 pack only fills the bottom of the cup.

After brewing according to the officially recommended water-powder ratio, the difference is obvious.

The first product tested was Trung Nguyen G7 3-in-1 instant coffee from Vietnam. Trung Nguyen Coffee is a major coffee brand in Vietnam. The series was named G7 because Trung Nguyen believes that their product can succeed in the fierce market competition among G7 member countries.

The amount of powder for this coffee is very small, and after brewing it, it is also the least here, and the color is particularly dark. Friends who have a greater demand for coffee may need to brew two bags at a time to get enough. The taste of G7 is more stimulating, a bit like the smell of Chinese medicine, and I personally don't like it very much. It tastes very strong, a little sweet, and then the bitterness will slowly come out. It is very similar to Vietnamese coffee. The aroma and bitterness of the coffee are very obvious, but it will not stay in the mouth for too long, which is the strength that the uncle can accept.

The second coffee comes from Malaysia, called Old Street , which is the No.1 selling coffee in Malaysia. As we all know, when traveling to Malaysia, you must drink a cup of white coffee with local characteristics. And white coffee originated from Old Street in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. Therefore, the name of this brand "Old Street" is quite smart.

Many friends may wonder what "white coffee" is. In fact, in Malaysia, the traditional method of roasting coffee is to add sugar and butter to the coffee beans and roast them together. The roasted coffee beans will be shiny black, and the locals call these coffees "black coffee". White coffee is the opposite of this, which is the coffee beans roasted without adding any seasonings. The third one is the only low-sugar coffee in this test: Yichang Reduced Sugar White Coffee . Yichang is also a major coffee brand in Malaysia with more than 50 years of history. Like Old Town White Coffee, the portion is very generous and the packaging is as big as an iPhone X.

This coffee has a strong milky flavor with a hint of sweetness, just the right amount of sweetness. If Old Town White Coffee is like latte, then Yichang's is milk tea, and it is Hong Kong-style silk stocking milk tea, with a smooth and mellow taste. The taste is great, if you like silk stocking milk tea, this is the right choice.

Next is Kasino , a sub-brand of Singapore's Fuwangchao Holdings. It is interesting to say that although it is a Singaporean brand, Fuwangchao Holdings' main market is in Russia and Central Europe.

This Cassino White Coffee smells like a faint chocolate aroma, but it doesn't taste like chocolate when you drink it. It has a strong coffee bitterness, with a sweet taste, and the sweetness and bitterness appear together. The taste lasts a long time in the mouth. The taste of this coffee is very similar to what my uncle drank when he was a child. Although it is not very special, it is very familiar.

The last coffee is Mr. Brown Coffee from Taiwan, Blue Mountain flavor. Legend has it that in Taiwan, Mr. Brown Coffee represents coffee itself.

The color of this coffee is very light after brewing, much lighter than the other cups. It tastes very sour, but the overall taste is very light, with both milk and coffee flavors. People who don't know the official brewing ratio may think that they accidentally added too much water and diluted the coffee. This taste is a bit like the effect of drinking hand-brewed coffee in a coffee shop with milk and sugar.

Among these 5 instant coffees, I like Yichang's low-sugar white coffee the most, because I don't like the taste too sweet, so low sugar is more in line with my requirements. If you are a friend who wants everything to be "sweet", you can try Old Town or Zhongyuan G7.
