Analysis of the roasting degree of three types of coffee beans. You will understand coffee better after reading this

Whether you love coffee or just use it as a refreshing and leisure drink, it is undeniable that more and more people have formed the habit of drinking coffee. But how much do you know about coffee? Instant, hand brewed, freshly ground, these are just different ways of drinking. What really makes coffee taste unique is not only the natural advantages of its origin, but also the later roasting!

Coffee beans from different origins have different degrees of acidity, sweetness, body and flavor, which is determined by nature. However, humans can also influence the acidity, bitterness and flavor of coffee on this basis, all by the different degrees of roasting, which is generally speaking: the combination of temperature and roasting time.

Roasting is generally divided into light roasting, medium roasting and dark roasting. The further subdivision is that between light and medium there is medium-light or others, between medium and dark there is medium-dark or others, and so on. As a non-professional amateur, I will only talk about the effects of light, medium and dark roasting on the taste of coffee.

Light roast

Lightly roasted coffee beans have a lighter color and wrinkles on the surface. This type of coffee beans retains the natural flavor of the origin, and has a higher acid content. The overall taste is relatively refreshing and non-bitter. But it is worth noting that lightly roasted coffee beans should pay more attention to the origin of the coffee and whether the coffee beans are carefully cared for. After all, light roasting can best experience the flavor of the origin of the coffee beans.

Medium Roast

The coffee beans after medium roasting are the common brown color, and there are still some wrinkles on the surface. Compared with lightly roasted coffee, the fruit acid content and origin flavor of medium roasted coffee beans decrease, while the bitterness increases. The whole coffee beans exude a caramel aroma and have a mellow taste, which is loved by most people.

Dark roast

The longer the coffee beans are roasted, the more bitter they are. Therefore, the most distinctive characteristics of deep roasted coffee are bitterness and burnt taste, and the fruit acidity and origin flavor decrease rapidly. People who are not used to coffee acid probably like it. Secondly, the surface of deep roasted coffee beans is glossy and dark chocolate color, and the smell is smoky.
