1. Where is the hometown of coffee?

1. Site selection and land preparation

The coffee tree is a plant that likes warmth, so its planting site is generally chosen in a plot with sufficient sunlight. Secondly, it does not require too much water to grow, and the soil fertility does not need to be too sufficient. Generally, idle land, plains, hillsides and other sandy soils with good drainage are suitable. At the same time, the permeability must be good enough. After selecting the land, the field is evenly spread according to the amount of two thousand kilograms of fertilizer per mu, and then deep plowing is carried out. At the same time, the soil needs to be finely raked and flattened, and ditches and ridges can be dug or not.

2. Sow seeds at the right time

The planting time of coffee beans is generally in mid-to-late April each year. The temperature at this time can basically reach about 15 to 20 degrees, which meets the germination requirements of coffee beans. Before sowing, we need to soak the seeds in warm water for a day, then rinse them with clean water, and wrap them in wet cotton cloth. Generally, most of the seeds have germinated after three to four days, and then they can be sown. When sowing, they are generally sown in rows with a row spacing of 60 cm and covered with a thin layer of soil. If the soil is relatively dry, the soil needs to be watered before sowing. This can promote the germination of seeds. Under normal circumstances, the seeds will emerge in about ten days.

3. Reasonable density planting

After half a month, the coffee bean seedlings will basically grow to three or four centimeters. At this time, we can first pull out some of the seedlings that are growing very weakly or very densely in the field. When the seedlings grow to about ten to fifteen centimeters, we can start transplanting them. Generally, they are transplanted at intervals of thirty centimeters between each plant.

4. Field management

About five to seven days after planting, it is necessary to check the growth of seedlings in the field and replenish the seedlings in the field in time. After the coffee bean seedlings grow new branches and leaves, we need to carry out appropriate inter-row cultivation and weeding to maintain the permeability of the soil. The water management of coffee beans is actually relatively simple, because the drought resistance of coffee beans is still very good. Generally, as long as there is a certain humidity, they can grow normally, so we only need to water according to the living conditions of the coffee beans. Generally, after watering after planting, it is necessary to wait until the flowering period to water, and stop watering when the fruit is close to maturity. Since coffee beans do not require too much nutrients to grow, in addition to the base fertilizer, generally only one topdressing is required. When the seedlings grow to about thirty to forty centimeters, apply an appropriate amount of phosphorus fertilizer and ammonia fertilizer to prevent the coffee beans from lodging.

5. Pest and disease control

The main disease of coffee beans is gray spot, which is a fungal infection disease. It mainly harms the branches and leaves of coffee beans. In the early stage of the disease, brown spots will appear on the leaves. As the disease gradually worsens, gray mold will appear, and finally the whole plant will wither or even become hydrated. We can use mancozeb liquid for prevention and control. The most common insect pests are aphids, which can be directly sprayed with dimethoate emulsion.
