Have you thought about the last point about the difference between latte and cappuccino?

Latte and cappuccino are both representative coffees of Italian coffee. Latte is an Italian word, which literally means milk. So latte is not the same as coffee. There are several types of lattes on the market that do not contain a drop of coffee, such as matcha latte and five-grain latte from Korean coffee shop cafe bene. These do not contain coffee, but they must contain milk. So the correct name should be cafe latte. What is the difference between the two? Let's make a detailed analysis below:

The difference between latte and cappuccino

First: The ratio of coffee to milk foam is different

The milk foam of cappuccino is very thick and overflows the edge of the cup, but not so for latte. The proportion of espresso, hot milk and milk foam in cappuccino is 1:1:1; for latte, the proportion of espresso, hot milk and milk foam is 1:2:1. Cappuccino is mainly made of milk foam, while latte is mainly made of milk. The milk foam of cappuccino should account for at least half of the total cup volume, while the milk foam of latte should not exceed 10% of the total cup volume.

Cappuccino

Second: Different drinking utensils

Latte is usually served in a taller glass, while cappuccino is usually served in a shorter and wider porcelain cup.

Third: Different appearance

The cup for latte is larger than that for cappuccino. (This can increase the amount of milk.) There is only a layer of milk foam on the surface of latte, which is generally flush with the mouth of the cup; the milk foam of cappuccino is higher than the mouth of the cup, and it looks full and smooth. Even if you shake the cup, the coffee will not overflow.

Cappuccino

Fourth: Different taste

Both cappuccino and latte have milk foam, and both require very dense milk foam. Cappuccino has more foam and less milk, and the coffee taste is more obvious. When drinking, it is recommended to stir the milk foam back into the cup and remix it with the milk coffee (because after the coffee is made and served on the table, the milk foam and milk have basically separated, and the taste of drinking milk foam alone is not good.) The milk, coffee and dense milk foam should fill your mouth. You can feel the sweetness without adding sugar. Latte has less foam and more milk, and the overall feeling is that it has a strong milky taste, so it is not compared in the competition. Cappuccino can taste the quality of coffee better. It is a bit like milk with coffee flavor. Because there is no thick milk foam, it does not feel very dense.

Latte

Fifth: Gender of coffee drinkers

Latte is a coffee that is more popular among women because it contains more milk, which is good for women's skin and stomach. Cappuccino is a coffee that men prefer. This is what I have concluded from my work in the coffee industry over the years. If you often go to coffee shops, you can pay attention to see if this is the case.
