As a classic Italian coffee, cappuccino can be found in almost every coffee shop, bottled drinks, cakes, and in some songs. It can be said that cappuccino has been sublimated from a type of coffee to a flavor, a mood, or a taste. So what exactly is a real cappuccino? The following will answer this question in the form of a FAQ.

1.What is cappuccino?

Cappuccino is an Italian coffee. Its Italian name is Cappuccino. The more common saying is that cappuccino means hat in Italian. Another saying is that the root of cappuccino comes from a sect called Capucci. The priests of this sect would cut their hair into the shape of fried eggs, with only a circle of hair around it. It is said that a kind of monkey in Africa is also called capuchin, and its characteristic is that it is naturally bald.

In fact, the above two points just illustrate the two major characteristics of cappuccino. The milk foam is covered on the cup like a hat and protrudes high above the surface of the cup mouth. In addition, there must be a circle of golden rim composed of coffee oil (Crema).

2. What’s in a cappuccino?

The ingredients of cappuccino are very simple, generally consisting of Espresso (Italian espresso), milk and milk foam. In some coffee shops that do not have espresso machines, you may also encounter cappuccino without milk foam, but with cream instead. In fact, this is a very irresponsible tampering.

3.What are the characteristics of a real cappuccino?

a. The milk foam rises high, higher than the rim of the cup.

b. The milk foam is fine and long-lasting.

c. The milk foam should account for at least 1/3 of the entire cup.

d. There is a complete circular gold border.

4.What does cappuccino taste like?

The essence of cappuccino lies in the milk foam. People who like cappuccino usually like the delicate and smooth feeling of the milk foam. In fact, compared with common Italian coffees such as latte and mocha, cappuccino has a stronger coffee flavor, so if you don’t like coffee with a strong coffee flavor, it is not a good idea to choose cappuccino.
