On December 16, Beijing time, the 13th International Coffee Tasting Competition, known as the "Oscar-level award", came to an end in Tokyo, Japan. Among them, Luckin Coffee, the No. 1 coffee brand in China, brought four coffee beans, which stood out from 289 samples from 11 countries around the world after a strict blind test by 30 global judges, and won the gold award again. Why "again"? The reporter learned that at the IIAC competition in Milan in 2018, Luckin Coffee's newly upgraded blended coffee beans from Ethiopia's Sidamo won the gold medal at the Milan 2018 IIAC International Coffee Tasting Competition. This time, Luckin Coffee has surpassed last year's results, with as many as four winning coffee beans. They are TOPPED OFF, WIDE AWAKE #A, HAVE PASSION, and CUP OF JOY #A. These four gold-winning coffee beans come from the Luckin Coffee product master team, which is composed of the WBC world champion team composed of Izaki Hidenori, Andrea Lattuada, and Pan Zhimin. They blended them after repeated testing and optimization from multiple aspects such as roasting degree, formula ratio, and extraction time. The reporter learned that the International Institute of Coffee Tasters (IIAC), founded in Italy in 1993, is an independent, scientific, non-profit coffee tasting organization that aims to study and spread scientific methods for evaluating Italian coffee. It is currently one of the most authoritative coffee tasting organizations in the world. The IIAC GOLD MEDAL is an "Oscar-level award" in international coffee bean competitions. Its purpose is to reward coffee that has been carefully picked, professionally processed, carefully screened, carefully roasted, and uniquely blended on a global scale. A person in charge of Luckin Coffee told reporters that Luckin Coffee has always believed that "good coffee is not expensive". Luckin Coffee insists on using international gold medal quality coffee beans to provide consumers with high-quality, cost-effective and convenient coffee. According to data, Luckin Coffee was founded in 2018 and has been operating in the Chinese market for less than two years. Public data shows that as of September 30, 2019, Luckin Coffee has 3,680 stores in 43 cities across the country. By the end of 2019, the company plans to have a total of more than 4,500 stores, becoming China's largest coffee chain brand. |
