Can coffee beans be crushed by a blender: Find out the truth

A coffee bean grinder is a common household appliance that can grind nuts, grains, and other ingredients into fine powder. However, some people question whether a coffee bean grinder can be used to grind coffee beans. This article will discuss this question and try to find the answer.

1. The working principle of the wall breaking machine

First, we need to understand the working principle of the wall breaker. The wall breaker achieves fine grinding of ingredients through the high-speed friction formed by the high-speed rotating blade and the inside of the container. The blade rotates rapidly in the container, rubbing the ingredients against the inner surface of the container to generate shear force and impact force, making the ingredients more delicate.

2. Coffee bean characteristics analysis

Next, we need to understand the characteristics of coffee beans. Coffee beans are seeds extracted from coffee fruit and processed. After being roasted, they become what we call coffee beans. They have a high hardness, a smooth surface, and a certain toughness.

3. The impact of coffee beans on coffee beans

Based on the working principle of the coffee bean breaker and the characteristics of coffee beans, we can speculate that the coffee bean breaker may have the following effects on coffee beans:

First, due to the high hardness of coffee beans, the shear force and impact force generated by the friction between the blades in the container may not be able to completely crush them. This means that using a blender to make coffee powder may result in uneven particles and a rough texture.

Secondly, the fine grinding process in the wall-breaking machine will generate a certain amount of friction heat. For coffee, too much friction heat may cause the loss of some aroma components. Therefore, when using a wall-breaking machine to make coffee powder, you need to pay attention to controlling the time and temperature.

4. Experimental Verification

In order to verify whether the above speculation is correct, we conducted a series of experiments. First, we selected several common brands of household wall breakers and selected different brands of coffee beans for testing.

The experimental results show that using a wall-breaking machine to grind coffee beans finely can indeed achieve a certain degree of crushing effect. However, compared with professional coffee bean grinders, the coffee powder produced by the wall-breaking machine is larger and more uneven. At the same time, there is also a certain difference in taste. The coffee produced by professional equipment is more delicate and smooth.

5. Conclusion

The above analysis and experiments prove that using ordinary coffee breaker to make coffee powder at home cannot achieve the ideal effect. Although some coffee beans can be crushed into smaller particles, it cannot achieve the fineness and uniformity that professional equipment can achieve.

Therefore, when pursuing high-quality, excellent-tasting coffee, it is recommended to choose professional-grade equipment or buy ready-made high-quality brand products. For daily drinking or when personal needs are not high, you can try using a household model wall-breaking machine for simple processing.
