The correct way to drink coffee beans

Coffee Bean Selection

Choosing the right coffee beans is crucial in the process of making coffee correctly. First, you need to consider what type of coffee flavor you like. If you like a strong and bitter taste, then choosing dark roasted coffee beans is a good choice. If you prefer a lighter and more acidic taste, then medium roasted or light roasted coffee beans may be more suitable for you.

Secondly, consider buying coffee beans that are fresh and well-preserved. Freshness is very important for maintaining the original flavor of coffee beans. When buying, you can check whether the roasting date is marked on the package, and try to buy coffee beans that are close to the roasting date and the packaging is intact, vacuum-sealed or nitrogen-filled.

Grinding and Brewing

Once you have chosen the right coffee beans with the right quality and flavor characteristics to suit your personal preferences, the next step is grinding and brewing. The grind of the coffee beans has a great impact on the taste of the final brewed coffee, so you need to adjust the grind according to the brewing equipment you use.

If you use a drip coffee machine, you can choose a medium-fine grind. For a French press or hand brewer, a coarser grind is more suitable. In addition, you also need to pay attention to the amount of coffee beans used. Generally speaking, about 15 grams to 20 grams per cup is needed.

Water quality and temperature

In addition to coffee beans and grinding degree, water quality and temperature are also important factors that affect the taste of coffee. High-quality purified water is one of the indispensable conditions for making delicious coffee. Try to avoid using tap water that contains too many impurities and has a strong chlorine taste.

At the same time, it is also very important to maintain the right temperature during the brewing process. It is generally recommended to add water to around 90°C to 96°C for brewing. Overheated water may cause the coffee to be over-extracted, resulting in a bitter taste; while too low a temperature may not fully extract the aroma and taste of the coffee beans.

Brewing time and method

Different brewing methods require different time control. For drip coffee machines, generally speaking, the entire brewing process takes about 4 minutes to complete. For devices such as French presses or hand brewers, the soaking time can be adjusted according to personal preference.

In addition, when brewing manually, pay attention to pouring water evenly and steadily, and avoid leakage or tilting. This ensures that every part of the coffee can be evenly soaked and extracted.

Taste and Enjoy

Finally, it is also very important to enjoy your carefully made coffee correctly. Pour the hot drink into a pre-heated container of suitable capacity and taste it at the right time. During the tasting process, you can pay attention to the layers of taste and the richness of aroma, and try to distinguish the different flavors in the coffee. If necessary, you can add appropriate amount of sugar or milk according to your personal taste preferences.

While enjoying coffee, be sure to drink it in moderation and avoid over-dependence on caffeine. If you want to learn more about the world of coffee, try coffee beans from different origins and processing methods, and share your discoveries and experiences with friends.
